CHAPTER 9

JENNIE'S POV
Certainly, if I was confused before, it is nothing to how I am feeling right now. Athan just mentioned something which I understood as if he recognised that he liked me. Does he still feel the same?

Wait, what am I talking about?! We don't know each other! We are almost strangers... But somehow, he knows everything about me. So that means that it's possible for him to have developed those feelings.

Agh! I'm really scared! And no, I'm not afraid of the fact that he knows everything about me. I'm afraid about the fact that I'm caring more about his possible romantic feelings towards me, than the fact that he said not to be a human.

-Jisoo: Jendukie~ Everyone says that dinner was amazing (chuckles) It's true that if we all work together, everything feels better afterwards (notices Jennie's seriousness) Is something wrong?
-Jennie: No... How's Jungkook doing? Is he happy?
-Jisoo: Hmmm... I would probably say that he's the happiest man alive right now (smiles) And all thanks to us and his friends.
-Jennie: I'm glad that everything is working out just how we planned (fakes a smile)
-Jisoo: Really? You don't look too happy if I'm honest. Tell me, I know that something happened. What is it? We are friends, you can tell me (smiles)

The fact of having Jisoo unnie saying that we are friends and that I can count with her, makes a honest smile appear on my face automatically.

-Jennie: (smiles) Unnie, you are the best.
-Jisoo: I am? Thank you, you too! (chuckles) But...
-Jennie: "You still want to know" (sighs) Okay, Athan has been here. He confessed something really "weird"...
-Jisoo: Ah, he really drives you crazy, every time you have a problem is related with him.
-Jennie: He said that he's not a human, how am I supposed to react to that?!
-Jisoo: He's not a human?!
-Jennie: I asked him if he was a god, but he said that he's not. So right now, I'm really really confused... Also, there's Dahyunie, she has not appeared yet.

-Jisoo: Jendukie... Do you remember what Athan said? "Maybe he was not real"...
-Jennie: But we helped her! Are you telling me, that now the boy who are we helping is not real neither?
-Jisoo: I don't know... Okay? But don't get frustrated because of that. Let's just follow the flow and keep on going with our club activities (smiles) Although they weren't real, we would still be helping them, right?
-Jennie: I don't know how you do it, but I feel like I can't disagree with you (smiles)
-Jisoo: Nice, then let's just enjoy our little trip (chuckles)
-Jennie: (smiles and nods)

Jisoo leaves and I feel like there's something else that I wanted to tell her but there's something not allowing me to.

I mean, how am I supposed to ask her if she knows about Athan's feelings towards me? It's too embarrassing... I'm not a teenager. I'm a young adult studying in college. I should be an expert when it comes to deal with this issues.

-Athan: Why aren't you sitting with them around the fire? I'm sure that you won't be able to taste the marshmallows if you don't join them on time (chuckles)
-Jennie: I don't feel like it...
-Athan: Why not? I'm sure that it'll be fine...
-Jennie: Why don't you join them, then?
-Athan: Because for them... I... (sighs) It doesn't matter. I would rather stay here with you (smiles)
-Jennie: Why do you have such interesting in me?
-Athan: Hmmm... Why did you want to get to know me, Jen? (smirks)
-Jennie: (sighs) You can't avoid questions with more questions, cheater.
-Athan: I can't tell you anything you don't know already... (smiles shyly)
-Jennie: Athan... Although you said not be a human, you have human feelings?
-Athan: It's the first time that someone asks me that (chuckles)
-Jennie: I am not the only girl you know everything about?
-Athan: I know everything about everyone...

I don't know why, but somehow I feel really disappointed with his answer. I was expecting something like "Of course not, you are the only one". But that's something too childish. That stuff only happens with those Disney charming princes, and now that I'm an adult I'm sure that... A is not in my list.

-Athan: But... If I'm honest, you are the only one who caught my attention (embarrassed)

Oh no, there it is again... That burning feeling inside of me. I hate it! It's so confusing! Please, how can a a jerk smiling produce that effect on me? Jennie Kim, go back to your sense!

-Jennie: I don't understand why...
-Athan: There's so many reasons, but I won't tell you. A man should know when to stay quiet.
-Jennie: You are not quiet, you always talk enough to leave me a mess afterwards (looks down) It's frustrating.
-Athan: (smiles) I'm sorry, but at least that reassures me that you think of me when I'm not around.
-Jennie: Why would you want something like that?! (embarrassed)
-Athan: Because I feel like you are the only reason I have to be something else than the devil... (sighs) You are the only right thing in me, Jen.
-Jennie: What do you mean with "devil"?
-Athan: (gets up) I'm sorry, I won't talk about it anymore for today... (stretching) I'm not a demon or something like that, just in case you are wondering... (chuckles)
-Jennie: (looks straight into your eyes) I don't understand you, Athan. But... If teasing and messing with me, helps you feel better, then it's okay.
-Athan: Jen...
-Jennie: However, if I ever attack back, don't complain (chuckles) I'll try to understand everything behind you acts.
-Athan: (smiles) I'll be looking forward to that...
-Jennie: You know, I feel like if I ever got to understand who and how are you, I'll be able to discover the world's biggest secret. Jisoo unnie and I will soon discover it... So, get ready for it (grins)
-Athan: I can't way for that to happen (smiles) I'm anxious about you calling me by my real name.

His real name, huh? I also want to know stop using "Athan" and replace it by his real name. Also, I have to understand why am I the only good in his life. Everything is so mysterious... I think I need some marshmallows.
