Sarah's P.O.V
I had to help him. I hated him, but I had to help him. I signed the contract that gave him an alibi. I knew I would regret this later, but I had to try. I would be in trouble if I didn't. I could hear the news:
"Star defensive lineman: could have been saved by his former love!" I shuddered at the thought.
I walked back to Lila's house. My kids greeted me.
"Mowy! Hawwd muac awn cweese." Angel yelled, jumping up and down.
I smiled.
"Good for you," I said, and took them home, after saying thank you to Lila.
Jack's P.O.V
I knew something bad was going to happen. When the police show up on your doorstep, you get that feeling. Like everything isn't going to be alright. Like you're a lost cause, just accept the charges you didn't do, and get done with your years.
Flashback:
I didn't go out with Julie voluntarily. My coach wanted his daughter to marry me for my money, so he told me he would kick me off the team if I didn't go. I knew he couldn't. He'd be fired. But I agreed to go out with Julie Jones anyway.
She decided it would be romantic to go to a playground full of kids, with crappy food, and some root beer. McDonald's. That's when things started to go wrong...
She ordered us both cheeseburgers and a coke. Uh gross. I prefer McNuggets over the cheeseburger, and I don't love McNuggets.
And root beer or real beer is better than Coke. C'mon lady. She then started jabbering on about how she would make an excellent wife because she knew how to make eggs and iron a dress, and she knew everyone, so she had juicy gossip. My mind wandered back to Sarah.
She would have asked me what I wanted to do, and we would compromise. She would either let me choose what I wanted, or she knew what I wanted. She wouldn't drone on and on about things I didn't care about. She would ask me questions, and we would have a balanced conversation. And she made me laugh.
What really killed me though, was that I had eight years. Eight years to fix my mistake. I knew when Jess denied me, that I had to get back with Sarah, but I couldn't even talk to her. So I left. I more or less forgot about Sarah and buried myself in football.
But when Julie kept talking about some stupid thing this person did to that one, I wondered what would have happened if I hadn't dumped Sarah for Jess.
(A/N: Yes, this is sort of a flashback in a flashback. Don't judge. :P)
Third P.O.V:
Sarah walked over to her husband. In her arms was a seven-year-old girl. The girl had a few missing teeth and red hair braided down her back. She was wearing riding boots and was sporting the whole, 'cowgirl' look. She had a big smile on her face.
"Daddy! Daddy, guess what!! Mommy said I could have one!!" The girl yelled in her father's face.
"Calm down, Ash." Sarah hugged her daughter close. "Tell daddy what I said you could have." Just then, a toddler about three years old screamed. Sarah sighed. Ashley giggled.
Sarah set down her child and rushed to her baby boy. "Shush, Trevor. It'll be alright." She slowly rocked the baby to sleep, brushing his black curls out of his face. She set the baby down and slowly walked out of the room.
"Trev is asleep, no yelling." She said. Ash solemnly nodded. Jack leaned back in his chair and smiled.
"Well, Ash, what did mommy say you could have?" He whispered.
"My very own pony!!" She whispered back. Jack shot his wife a glare.
"Real or fake?" She smirked.
"Real. Ash is getting a pony tomorrow. I'm driving her to the stables."
"I'm going to name her Edesia!" Ash whisper-shouted.
Sarah smiled. "I love the name, Ash. Jack, she's doing amazing with her schoolwork, and she really wants Edesia. I had a pony when I was seven,"
Sarah went back to arguing with her husband. She knew she would win this argument, and that Jack would give in.
Back to Julie and Jack's Date:
"And if I had twin girls, I would name them Khaleesi, Khali for short, and Amy. And if I had twin boys, Aita and Atti. And if I had a boy and girl twin, Lynn for the boy, and Talula for the girl." Julie's horrifying name choices for twins invited me to step in.
"I would name my twin girl and boy Ashley and Trevor," I said, thinking of my daydream. Julie looked shocked, almost like she couldn't believe I talked.
"And if I had twin girls, Leona and Natalie. Twin boys would be Lee and Tim."
"I hate those names!" She cried.
Well then, lady, obviously you are a crazy person or just plain rude. What kid would want to be named Khaleesi over Leona? I thought.
"I have to go, sorry," I said, standing up. Not sorry. I added in my head. I couldn't believe Coach wanted me to marry Julie. She was too talkative and... well... I don't know, silly? She thought Khaleesi was a pretty name. There were no good words to describe her.
"Jack! Wait up!" Julie yelled. I shook my head and walked faster. I heard a gunshot but didn't look behind me, not really caring.
If only I had.
A/N: So guys, the end of the Golden Writers Contest is SUPER soon, so I am editing all of these chapters and trying to make them all at least 1k words, so please bear with me.
