Knowledge stepped through the portal and found himself facing a tall red-bricked building. Around them, he noticed that they were closed off. Tall buildings enclosed them. One part of the building stuck out the most from others. There was a door with steps leading up to it.
In the distance, both of them could hear the sounds of cars and people. The alleyway was too long and narrow that led into the round clearing within the buildings. Most people avoided it thinking it would be only met with disaster.
The weather was chilly, patches of snow covered certain parts of the alley. The sky was dark and gloomy. It seemed that there would be a snow storm coming their way soon. Both of the werewolves wrinkled their noses as pollution was high in this city. He could smell a hint of a cafe nearby mingled within the strong smells of the city life.
The brown werewolf approached the reddish-brown door that was on top of the few steps. Knowledge stood behind Susi as she stepped up. Without hesitating, Susi knocked on the door with confidence and waited for an answer.
The door opened before they knew. In front of them stood a tall young man with short spiky brown hair. His skin was pale and eyes were golden. Underneath his left eyes, there were two red strips. They reminded Knowledge of band-aids. He stared at the two werewolves for a brief moment before sighing.
"I'm sorry, we don't take strays in." He said tiredly, then proceeded to slam the door at their muzzles. Susi held her hand out to hold it open. "Hey! Greyson doesn't want to see anyone today-"
"Tell him it's urgent, please. Say that Susi is here to see him." Susi's voice was soft and pleading.
The young man let the door open up fully. He crossed his arms while staring at the two werewolves. Knowledge got a small glimpse inside, he just could see the wall opposite of the door which was reddish-orange.
"Why should I? This isn't an animal shelter, we don't take strays in." He repeated again but this time had a smirk on his face. "Do I look like a messenger to you? No actually... don't answer that. Anyways, who is he? Surely the two of you don't share a name."
"My name is Knowledge." His ears flicked. Knowledge stepped aside so the young man was able to see him better. "Though my name doesn't matter. I'm certain that Greyson has never heard of me..."
The young man started to laugh out of the blue.
"What kind of a name is 'Knowledge?'" He tipped his head back as he let out a loud bark like laughter clutching onto his stomach. The young man smacked his knee a few times. It took him a while to calm down. "I'll still have to ask you two to leave."
"No, we came here to see Greyson and I'd like to talk to him." Susi stubbornly took a step forward entering the building. She towered over the young man but he didn't seem to care about the height difference. "I'm not going anywhere before until he has told us himself to leave."
The young man clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Whatever. Stay. I'll go and fetch him personally for the two of you to leave" He rolled his eyes while he had a smirk on his face. The brown haired man walked inside and disappeared from their view.
Knowledge could hear a murmur in the distance which wasn't too far away from the door. He wasn't able to make anything out. Susi was fidgeting in her place. She looked around as her ears flicked and tail twitched. Knowledge was certain she was being paranoid about something. Though, he could recall that Susi hated waiting.
It took about a minute until the young tall man returned to the door. He wasn't looking happy when he appeared again, Knowledge noted.
"Come in, Greyson will see you." He muttered stepping aside letting the two werewolves go ahead of him. Once they were in, the young man closed the door behind them.
