I'm laying down in the grass like usual trying to get my extra credit from social studies done before school. I hear footsteps and Andrew walks up to the fence in his yard. He climbs over it and waves to me.

"Hi," I smile.

"What are you working on?" Andrew asks me.

"Some extra credit for social studies," I tell him. Andrew sits down next to me and steals my paper.

"Let me see that," Andrew scolds at my paper. "You got every one of these questions wrong."

"I'm not good at school stuff," I groan.

"Number one should be Benjamin Franklin, and number two should be George Washington," Andrew laughs.

"Let me fix it," I say stealing my paper back. I erase the answers I previously had and I change them. I look back up at Andrew and he's smiling at me. We sit there for a long moment just staring at each other until Andrew makes the first move. He leans into kiss me and right before our lips touch I pull away. "I'm sorry," I whisper.

"It's okay, I was being kind of forward with the whole kissing thing anyway," Andrew replies. He scratches the back of his head and stands up

"I'll see you at school," I say before Andrew leaves. I put my head in my hands. Why didn't I kiss him? I am such an idiot! That's when I realize how much I am in love with Andrew. I pick up my book bag and I don't even go inside. I start walking to school without Andrew and I walk as fast as I can. When I get to the school Cassie is waiting for me as usual.

"Are you okay?" Cassie asks when she sees my distressed look.

"No," I reply.

"What happened," Cassie asks concerned.

"Andrew and I almost kissed," I say quickly. A big grin appears on Cassie's face and she raises her eyebrows. "We almost did because I was stupid enough to pull away."

Cassie frowns and says, "I am never forgiving you for this, Olivia. Wait did you say Andrew?"

"Yeah why?" I ask.

"Never mind," Cassie sighs.

I roll my eyes jokingly and we walk into the school. The beginning of the day is the same as always, but I ended up getting my grade up to a seventy percent in social studies. When my fourth period study hall comes around, I sit in front of Jason and Andrew. I overhear their whole conversation.

"Dude I really like Olivia," Jason whispers.

"Really?" Andrew asks him.

"Yeah she isn't like those other popular bi-"

"We kissed," Andrew cuts Jason off.

"What do you mean?" Jason asks in shock.

"Well, we almost kissed," Andrew admits.

"I really like this girl, Andrew," I hear Jason whisper. "Please don't ruin this for me."

Andrew hesitates, then says, "Fine, I was thinking about asking this other girl out anyway."

I stop what I'm doing. He promised. The bell rings and I angrily get out of my seat and leave the room. I walk past Courtney and intentionally bump into her shoulder. Hard. She grabs my arm and makes me face her.

"Say you're sorry," Courtney smiles while still holding on to me.

"That would be lying," I smile back. Courtney raises her fist and goes to punch my face. I quickly duck but not fast enough. Her fist lands on my eye and I know there will be a bruise. I fall to the ground and books spill everywhere. A teacher runs out of her classroom when she hears the commotion.

"Stop! What's going on?" She exclaims.

Courtney stands there speechless. She isn't getting out of this one. Ten minutes later, Courtney and I are sitting in the principal's office.
