Traverse Town: A Weird Town

"umm... where are we", Kate asked looking around the town, the town was mainly empty, not a lot of people were walking around in the square.

"only one way to find out, come on", Sora said as he and Kate walked around the town, at first nothing seemed out of the ordinary, just a bizarre town, until another creature jumped out and slashed an adult, the adult disappeared and a heart flew out.

"it's like those things back on the island", Kate stated as both she and Sora summoned their Keyblades as more creatures popped up out of nowhere, Sora and Kate were outnumbered and had no choice but to run, Sora and Kate soon ran into an accessory shop and quickly closed the door behind them.

"hey there, what can I do for ya", a man asked as he turned around, as he got a good look at Sora and Kate, he then grumbled, "you two don't look like customers, and if your not customers, then get out",

right before Sora and Kate could say anything, a banging sound was heard at the door, the creatures had caught up to the two, the man grumbled to himself

"them again, huh", the man muttered as he pulled out what seemed to be a camera labeled "Cid Cannon" and walked over to the door, as he opened it, the camera launched an attack, after a few seconds, all the creatures were gone.

"there we go, het kids, you both new 'round here, where'd you come from", the man asked

"we're not kids, and our names are Sora and Kate", Sora shouted

"alright simmer down, nice to meet ya both", the man said

"umm... if you don't mind me asking, but... what were those things out there", Kate asked

"those are Heartless, they're monsters that eat peoples hearts", the man stated, "haven't seen them in the first district in awhile, they must've found something here",

"hey gramps, we're looking for two people, they're friends of ours, one's Kate's sister, they're names are Riku and Kairi", Sora explained as the man looked irritated after being called gramps.

"Gramps... the name's Cid, and Traverse Town is a place where lost people go", Cid explained, "if you look around, you might find them",

"alright, thank you", Kate said

"thanks Gramps", Sora called out as they began to leave

"It's Cid", Cid shouted as Sora and Kate left the accessory shop, as they began their search, they were stopped by a young man.

"they'll keep on coming after you both as long as you both wield the Keyblades", the man stated, "sorry, but I'm gonna have to ask you both to take a little nap",

"wait, hold on a minute", Kate called out but the man didn't listen and both Sora and Kate found themselves unconscious, after awhile the two woke up in an unfamiliar place, a young woman was there in the room with them.

"you both okay", the woman asked,

"who are you", Kate asked

"I'm the great ninja, Yuffie, I think you might've overdone it Squall", Yuffie stated turning her head towards the guy who knocked Sora and Kate unconscious

"It's Leon", Squall stated 

(A/n- although they re-named Squall to Leon in both the game and manga, his name will stay as Squall)

"why are we here", Sora asked

"the Keyblades you both possess, that's what the heartless are looking for", Squall stated

"but why knock us out instead of telling us that", Kate asked once again

"we had to conceal both your hearts to get them off your trail", Squall explained

"but... this doesn't make any sense", Sora said as then heartless began appearing in the other room

"they've already sniffed us out, Yuffie, go", Squall shouted as Yuffie began fighting the heartless, "you two, come with me and stay by my side and don't worry about the heartless out here",

Sora and Kate then began following Squall out of the room and into the streets, the area, unfamiliar to the two, soon enough, they ran towards a gate labeled "Third District", reaching the bottom, Sora and Kate heard a shout for help, looking up, they noticed a duck and a dog flying towards them, right before they could move out of the way, the two landed on top of Sora and Kate.

"the keys", Donald shouted as then a rumbling sound was heard and then a giant armored heartless fell from the sky, the armored heartless began to attack, but Goofy blocked it's attack

"we'll back you up", Donald said

"so let's fight him together", Goofy stated as Sora and Kate nodded their heads and the four began to attack, Donald casting magic spells at the armored heartless as Sora, Kate and Goofy kept attacking it, soon after it fell and disappeared

(A/n- Donald never heals you when you need it)

"hey, just asking... what did you mean by... keys", Kate asked

"well, a-hyuck, we've been seeking the wielders of the Keyblades", Goofy stated

"Sora, Kate, go with them, especially if you want to find your friends", Squall said

"alright" Sora said, both his and Kate's faces turning sad knowing that Riku and Kairi weren't there.

"you both can't come along looking like that", Donald stated, no frowning or sad faces, smile, our ship runs on happy faces",

"like this", Sora asked as he made a goofy face which made Kate, Donald and Goofy laugh, Sora joining in on the laughter later on.

"alright, we'll go with you guys", Sora said

"I'm Donald Duck", Donald said

"I'm Goofy", Goofy said

"I'm Sora", Sora said

"and I'm Kate", Kate said as the four put their hands in the middle of each other.

(Meanwhile)

"hey now, those little squirts took down that giant heartless"

"such is the power of the Keyblades, those children's strengths are not of their own"

"why don't we turn them into a heartless, that'll settle things quick enough",

"and those brat's friends are the lackeys of the king, they're all bilge rats by the look of them",

"enough... the Keyblades chose them, will they be the one who conquers the darkness, or will the darkness swallow them, although one of them is different, either way, they may prove quite useful",
