Tris POV

Only 10 more minutes till the Eatons  arrive. I check my makeup one last time and head downstairs. Yes, we can wear any color dress during dinners or important events, it isn't necessary to wear your faction color during events. I see my mom checking if everything is perfect on the dining table.

After a few minutes we hear a knock on the door. "I'll get it" I say. I open the door and Caleb was indeed right. Play nice tris. I think to my self. I smile at them and open the door wide enough for them to enter. 

I wanted to check if they were vampires, because vampires have to be invited in. "Aren't you going to invite us in Beatrice?" Mr. Eaton, Four's father says with a playful smile. 

I don't say anything but just gesture them to come in. "She is a really shy girl." Caleb covers up for me. I guess he understood what I was trying to check. He laughs and enters the house. Ooh, Mrs. Eaton looks beautiful. "Hello Marcus, hello Evelyn and hello Four dear" My mother greets politely. 

Four POV

"She is a really shy girl" Caleb says. Tris? and shy? He got to be out of his mind.

 I can tell she obviously isn't a shy girl. I can tell she was trying to check something the way she was observing us. "Hello Marcus, hello Evelyn and hello Four dear" Tris's mom, Natalie, greets us. She seems like a sweet lady. 

I see Tris whisper something in her dad's ear and her dad nods. "Excuse me for a second" She says and goes upstairs. What is this girl up to? Now I really want to know her and what she exactly is. 

She is a really mysterious person. Our parents talk for a little while and I talk to Caleb. "So tell me something about yourself." Caleb starts. "Well my name is Four-" I start but he cuts me off. "Or Tobias?" I look at him in shock but quickly cover it up. 

"Don't worry. Tris doesn't know yet." Why would he talk to me about Tris? "So why are spying on me?" I ask. "Oh I am not spying. This is just called finding out about the person you are going to have dinner with." He says with a slight laugh. Tris comes back and she has a satisfied expression. 

Caleb quickly leaves me and goes to her with a irritated expression. I see him tell her something and she just smirks and says something to him. 

I try to use my sharp hearing and just catch words like, "Don't....blood......stomach.....tasty." What the heck? what is that supposed to mean? What is this connection that tris has with blood?

We all sit down to eat and man! the food was delicious. Did I forget to mention that she looked breathtaking in that dress? Okay Tobias, keep your eyes to yourself. I see her looking at me suspiciously. "So Four" She stresses on Four. 

Looks like her annoying brother told her. "Tell me something about yourself" She puts on her 'I am so innocent' expression while saying this. Seeing that our parents were busy talking to each other, I start. "There isn't really much to know about me" I say. She just nods and continues eating her food in silence. 

After our meal her father, Andrew says, "Why don't you kids show Four around the house?" "Sure" Tris and Caleb both say in unison. After giving me a good tour of the house they take me to their backyard. 

They both stand in front of me and Tris asks, "What are you?" "Human?" I say but it comes out more like a question. She looks me in the eye and her pupil grows big and then small while she asks me, "How does your father know about inviting someone in?" "What is wrong with your eyes?" I ask. She looks shocked and surprised but then realization hits her beautiful face.

"Its fine" She says rather harshly. "Well this is the backyard" She says and leads me back inside. Caleb whispers something in her ear and she nods her head and takes out her silver ring which she was wearing and she walks towards me. Oh oh. 

Don't tell me she is going to make me wear silver. No no no no. She stands in front of me and says, "Could you please hold this ring as I have to..... never mind. Just hold it." I pulled back, shaking my head. "Why not?" She asked so innocently that I wanted to kiss her right there and there.

"Why not, Tobias?" She asked even more innocently. I see she is wearing one more ring but I have to get this silver away from me. "Well-" Before I could complete my sentence, she places the ring on my palm and oh my god! It burnt like hell. I screamed loudly. 

Our parents came in and my father instantly removed the ring from my hand. "What happened?" Andrew asks. "I don't know. I just placed my silver ring in Four's hand and he started screaming." Tris says. "Marcus, what is going on?" He asks my father. My father's face pales, obviously afraid to reveal the truth to them.
