Theodora's POV
As I slowly started to gain consciousness, I could hear a faint beeping and someone talking in an unfamiliar french accent. "I want her belongings packed and shipped to my residence in olympia before tomorrow," said the stern voice.
I fluttered my eyes open to see a white hospital room with cords connected to me. I had a cast on my left arm and felt the familiar sting of broken ribs.
In the corner of the spacious room was a woman on the phone pacing. She was dressed in a sophisticated outfit with an annoyed expression, painted on her face.As I turned to rip the IV out of my arm I felt a sharp pain in my chest hit me like punch in the gut. It all quickly came flooding back, my father screaming, then the car slamming into us. It sent chills down my body. What happened to him? Where is he?
The beeping on the machine starting accelerate. This caught the attention of the lady who rushed over to my bedside.
"Don't move Theodora, your hurt. Let me call the doctor." She said while quickly leaving to find a doctor.
A couple minutes later, a doctor came into the room. "Hello Theodora, I'm your doctor Igor. I'm going to check your vitals, ok?" I nodded my head while he went on with his business.
After a few minutes, she gave a quick look to the doctor, and he quickly left saying he would be back later.
When the doctor left, the lady from earlier stepped forward and sat on the chair next to my hospital bed. "Hi dear, I'm Alexandria Noor, your mother," she said.
I looked at her with eyes shocked. I'm surprised I didn't notice earlier, we had an obvious resemblance. I looked at her and noticed our resemblance in our pale grey eyes. Some people thought they were blue, but on a closer look, you could see they were a gloomy grey. An old friend said you could see death in my eyes.
"I thought you were dead," I said in a shocked voice. She looked at me with sorrow in her eyes. It was the same sorrow I had carried for years. I grew a slight anger towards the lady, not letting it reach my face.
"I'm sorry never reached out to you dear, your father, and I thought it would be for the best. He never agreed with my way of life." She said with gleam of sadness flashing across her eyes while staring at me.
I had a million questions flash through my mind. "What is your way of life? Why would they hide my own mother from me?" I said, emphasizing the word mother.
She sighed and said, "We come from a family where wealth and power run through our history. We have ties to royal and powerful families around the world. Your father William and I used to be in love, but when my mother and father past away, it was all left to me. This meant all the responsibilities were left to me at 23. With this great responsibility on my shoulders, it took all of my time so your father and I eventually grew out of love. We decided that since no one but your grandparents knew of your existence, it would be better to keep you away from this life." By the time my mother was done, we both had tears welling up in our eyes.
I took a sharp breath in as she swallowed me in a hug, bringing shooting pain to my ribs. However, foreign, this feeling felt I knew that she needed it.
