There was a girl named Theodora Noor. She was constantly moving around the World to different boarding schools with her father for his job.
But one unexpected day her father dies, leaving her alone with the person she thought was dead, her mother...
She held the door open for me while I entered her office; I nodded at her thanking her, and looked over her office. It had books lining the wall on beautiful wood shelves. Her desk was positioned in the middle of the room with a couch in front.
I sat on the couch while she sat down as well. She started, "Okay, Ms. Theodora, I wanted to discuss some things on behalf of your mother. While in the first month before your coming out party, you will be known as Theodora Williams. Your mother wanted you to take your father's last name for now, and after your coming out party, we will switch it back to Theodora Noor." I nodded in approval.
She acknowledged my silence and continued. "As you know, your mother wants no one to know of you yet, so please refrain from sharing information that will make people suspicious and curious. It might seem odd to keep you hidden for the first month, but your mom believes it will help you get adjusted to the other students. For now, that's all, your schedule is in your room, and your tailored uniform will arrive next Monday. For now, try to wear school colors on your clothes."
I nodded once again, and with curiosity I asked her, "If it's not out of my place, can I ask why my mom trusts you to know my identity." She nodded in understanding and continued, "Ah yes, your mom and I were friends when we attended here in our younger years. She was one of the few in the school with a kind and funny personality, so we naturally gravitated towards each other. We have been friends ever since; I actually knew your dad when they were together; he was a kind man like your mother." She said with a warm smile.
"Thank you, If you don't mind, can I come around another time to ask about my parents when they were younger," I said with hopefulness. "Of course, dear, your more than welcome, but for now, let's get you to your living quarters," she said, looking at her watch. "I have someone coming to escort you to your room, and he should be here any second.
Right on queue, a knock sounded from the door. "That should be your escort. Come in," she said loud enough so he could hear her.
I looked to see a familiar man my age walk in. He was tall, I'm guessing 6'0, he had pale skin with dark brown styled hair styled to perfection. With a bright smile that drew your attention in. Where do I know him from, I wondered. He seems oddly familiar

"Greetings, Headmistress Carmen," He said, slightly bowing his head to the headmistress.
"Theodora, I want you to meet Olympia Academy's student body president Maxence Erwan. He will be escorting you to your room, and if you need any help, you can contact him or me." She said while walking over to me and motioning to the man.
I thanked her and followed the boy out of the room. As soon as we were out the door, the boy engulfed me in a warm hug. I stood still, not moving. Who is this guy? Why is he hugging me?
"Hey, Theodora, do you remember me? We were partners at the Academy in Paris." He said, smiling brightly. Looking at the boy, I remembered we were partners for a science project at my old school, "Yes, I apologize were partners for the science project," I said with a stiff smile.
He continued ignoring my uneasy demeanor. "It's so good to see you; I didn't know what happened to you after we finished our project you disappeared out of nowhere. I tried to call you, but it said the number wasn't available." He said, stopping in the hall to face me.
I gave him a tight-lipped smile and said, "Yes, sorry, I umm switched schools a lot and got a new number."
He nodded, and we continued walking while he talked about the school we previously went to and how everyone was surprised. I left so abruptly. Though I couldn't have been more bored with our conversation, it was interesting to hear another point of view from a previous school more like his conversation.
I always tried not to made friends and to distance myself from people for this very reason. I guess more people noticed me then I thought.
We walked until we reached a building that said Noor Premise. Wait, I'm a Noor. "Umm, excuse me why is this called Noor Premise?" I said, asking Maxence. "Oh, this hall was built in honor of the Noor family; they have been attending this school since it opened in the 1870s. It's actually sad this is the first year that the Noor family heir does not attend the school. So much for that tradition." He said, chuckling. I laughed nervously, trying not to seem suspicious.
*Authors note*: Hey readers, I think I'm going to add a new POV next chapter. For now, what do you guys think about Maxence? I imagine his personality as a nice, social, but also a business-oriented guy. I picture him to look like the actor Louis Partridge.
Information about Maxence: Maxence Erwan, 18 years old, slim muscular build, Senior and Student body president at Olympia Academy, heir to the Erwan Empire. Part of the "Elite 4" (You will find soon who they are)
