Flufftober day 22 prompt: Gardening

Your mother only ever seemed to have one wish for you, one task for you to do, one goal for you to complete before your first day of school. And you were no where near ready to do it. She had only asked you the simple task of planting some of the flowers that she had been growing in small pots around the house since they were only seedlings. You had put it off for so long only for the fact that you had been hanging out with the two boys who lived just down the lane from your family, it was clear which one you would be around more considering you had no want to ever simply plant a couple of flowers. The young blond who had moved in as of recent, had taken over parts of your mind and changed you.

But there you knelt, you hands in the dirt with hundreds of tulips and roses in every colour possible lay aside you, their roots tangling with one another. In front of you, the flowerbed was filled with holes for the roots of the different flowers to go, the plot of soil was laid out in front of your house, the flowers turning the beige brick of the front of the house into a more colourful scene. Sighing, you glance up to the sky, noticing that the sun was at about a position that would seem to be noon. It was around this time when you would usually see the two brothers coming down the road, either in silence or bickering back and forth, but today it was silent, only one male's footsteps could be heard walking along the dirt path. Looking up from your work, you saw the young Joestar approaching you and kneeling beside you, rolling up his sleeves and picking up a pink tulip, laying it in the dirt and covering the hole with the small pile of soil next to it.

"Jonathan, you don't have to help me." You mumble out, a blush of embarrassment washing over your face as you speak. "Nonsense, as a gentleman it's my duty to help!" He looked your way and smiled, taking his hand out of the dirt and clasping it over yours. "It's my duty, (Y/N)." He repeated. You smile and poke him on the nose with your diet covered finger, dragging other across his cheek with a small giggle. "Thank you, Jonathan. But you truly don't have to help with this." He hushed you, placing more flowers into the earth. Flower after flower, hole after hole, the more the two of you planted the closer you got to the end of the plot that was in desperate need of flowers and colour. You and the young male chatted away the whole day, getting to know the young blue haired male better than you ever thought you would. After that afternoon, Dio seemed more of a memory of the distant past, he was then. Jonathan is now, Jonathan is the one who you started to fall for the single afternoon. The scent of the flowers wasn't the only thing that was in the air that day.
