Flufftober day 27 prompt: Promises

There he knelt, a small box was in his hand, you had alway known that he was the one. You had known from the day that you met him that he was going to be the one that you would mary the moment you were old enough. The small black velvet box had held a golden band, a stone mounted upon it, the gem glinting in the light of the setting sun and it refracted the shades or oranges and pinks and golds in the sky over Jonathan's face, a warm smile finding a home on his face and he looked up at you, the only emotion shown on his face was the love for you that burned in his eyes, inviting you to come closer to take his promise.

You had always known Jonathan as the one to keep every promise that he would make, saying that it was his gentlemanly duty to keep them, and that was why you loved his, that was why you knew that the day he told you so many years ago that he would marry you at the first chance he got. Growing up around the male, you knew that his so-called gentlemanly nature wasn't his nature but simply he personality, his calm and collected satire was the only part of him that most people knew of, some were lucky to see other side like his rage and compassion, lucky such as yourself, but you always knew that you and your Jonathan would always be drawn to one another. Some had called you kindergarden crushes and some had called you the elementary couple, and there were even some who called you soulmates. Those were the people who's words stayed with you even to this day, almost four years later.

The evening that Jonathan had planned started just shortly after noon the day before you both started your first year of university, he took you out into town and let you pick out any bit of clothes or item you wanted. After some shopping you both went to your favourite cafe and ordered your favourite drinks and snacks, Jonathan had stated many times that he would be paying for everything that day, that today was his treat to you. He had gifted you everything you could have possibly wanted, the both of you sharing many sweet and loving kisses throughout the day, smiles worn on both of your faces the entire day. "Jonathan, really? Please at least let me pay for this." You pleaded to the male, pointed out a little gift for him. He only waved you out, stating that today was about you and that there was no need for you to be buying him anything, no matter how much you wanted to.

The rest of the evening had gone just as planned to Jonathan's so called plan, you spent the evening together after your supper out in London, only arriving at the Joestar property shortly before sunset. Walking across the lawn in silence until you got to the same hill where you had shared your first kiss oh so many years ago. Standing atop the hill, you look out over the valley, seeing the city in the distance, the sky turning a bright gold with hues of orange dancing over everything, including you and Jonathan. You turn, pulling your eyes away from the skyline and sky, seeing Jonathan knelt down on his knee, a small black velvet box with a ring held in it. The gemstone glinting in the light. "I want to make a new promise to you, (Y/N). A promise to love you and to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"
