Flufftober day 25 prompt: Compromise
You should have known that dating Dio was always going to be to give and never get, whether it was with his attitude and constant hate to others or the love he requested from you and the constant attention, which the constant attention wasn't horrible on your behalf either, just the times when he would want it weren't always the best or didn't always work out for you. There was never any compromise when it came to you and Dio, but your love for the male was enough for you to keep trying to make it work, despite knowing that it probably never would, considering the track record and the history of the path that your relationship had taken over the seemingly amazing three years that you had been together.
The day he had asked you out was one of the happiest days of your life, the amount being so much that your simply couldn't contain it, smiles on both yours and Dio's face the whole day, and for everyday of almost three years. The only change being as of late was that he no longer wore his smile, and that was when he had started to always call upon you to give and never gave back. At first you didn't think much of it but once others started noticing, you knew something was wrong. Knowing that going to the male first would be just as difficult as asking for death, knowing that that would be the end result of the conversation with the blond. Unsure of what to do, you go to the perfect person to ask for help, the person who knew Dio the best, the only other person you had ever trusted in your life; Jonathan Joestar.
Sitting on his bedroom floor, you start to talk about all the things you've noticed about Dio in the past few months, the blue haired male sitting atop his bed and paying attention to everything that you were saying, only offering up advice when you asked for it, which wasn't too often consiering that you were only complaing and ranting to get it off your chest to someone. The entire time you let yourself go off to him, he was sat behind you rubbing small circles on your back and massging your shoulders in desprate attempts to calm your nerves, giving to you what you were missing from your boyfriend, giving you what you were missing from the male who had claimed that he loved you. It was then that you knew, it was that moment in time that you know you needed a boyfriend like Jonathan. Standing up you turn and kiss the young Joestar on the cheek and go to leave his room, planning to visit the Brando. "I'll be back in a moment, Love."
"Dio, we need to talk, now." The blond male looked up to his doorway, peeling his eyes away from the book that was in his hand, sighing, he put the dust jacket flap at the page he was at and closed it, laying the book down in the drawer of his bedside table and closing it, "Come in, (Y/N)." Walking in to his room, you take a seat on his bed close to him, laying your hands in his as your start to speak, expressing everything that was on your mind like you had done with Jonathan, except this time you were speaking in a more collected manor and refused to let Dio speak until you had finished, a single tear rolling down his cheek when you did. "I'm sorry Dio, but this is the end for us, for now at least."
And with that you left Dio's room, making your way back to Jonathan's and closing his door on your way in, giving the two of you some privacy. As soon as you walked in, Jonathan approached you, wrapping his arms around your body and embracing you in a tight and loving hug as a single tear rolled from your eye and over your cheekbone, dropping off your jaw onto Jonathan's chest. "Jonathan, I.." He pulls away from the embrace and looks down at you, a warm smile on his face, "I'm proud of you, (Y/N)." With that, you both leaned towards each other, Jonathan placing a sweet kiss on your lips.
