All four Detectives were now focused on Jason Barstow the second male of the quartet. Detective Martinez would search the internet and Web sites for any information while Soborno manned the phone. The leg work would be shared by Richards and Barkowitz, all periodically reporting back to a now frustrated Molly Maguire. Their first problem was establishing his identity, he was in fact English. His father was in the Diplomatic Corp and had in 1978 been sent to Washington as first secretary to the British Ambassador. Very little could be found relating to his younger life, but all four agreed  this time had no significant bearing on their inquiries. Moving forward to the year 1987 according to Teachers at Clairemont Junior High Jason Barstow was a well adjusted, clever and very popular young man. Popular mostly through intrigue as his father was viewed as being very important, even at times having the ear of the President himself. His chosen subjects as he progressed into High School were, Law, History and Child Psychology. He was a leading vocalist on the Debate Team and would constantly speak out on the subject of equality, which at times seemed unusual coming from his more than privileged back-ground. His friends at the time pointed to the unstable relationship he had with his father Henry Barstow, mainly due to the afore mentioned reluctance to accept the American way of life. Jason knew that at some time in the near future his parents would be recalled back to the UK and with this in mind and the fact that his long term girlfriend Suzy Peters had accepted a place at Alabama State University, Jason applied, was accepted and followed her there  Now twenty years of age Jason Barstow's chosen direction was adult and child Psychology with a back up of Politics. Suzy Peters herself a Grade A student studied Medicine with the  final outcome hopefully of becoming a Chemist. In the year 1999 both passed out from University gaining the highest degrees available to them and in November of the same year they were married. Missing from the ceremony were Henry and Sylvia Barstow who by now were living a countryside retirement in the south of England. Jason as the Detectives would later discover would never again see his parents. The young couple moved to Tampa Florida where Jason began work in their Social Services Department which dealt with everything from family breakups to newly released prisoners and everything in between. Suzy was working for a small Pharmaceutical Company in charge of orders and deliveries to local Chemist Stores, life was good. In January of 2003 Suzy announced that she was pregnant and in October of the same year Peter Robert Bastow was born. Jason's outspoken views on many subjects in and around Tampa had caught the attention of Counselor Corey Stevens  who was in six months time standing as the opposition to the long term Governor of Florida Conrad Black. Counselor Stevens insisted that Jason join his team albeit for now on a part time basis as he understood the importance of Jason's career. Job accepted he became a very recognizable face in and around Tampa. Now aged 28 Jason had it all, a beautiful wife, a growing son and a budding career, what could go wrong  (Up)  April 2004 life is great Corey Stevens has just secured the Governorship for the State of Florida. (Down) Jason received a phone call, his son Peter had collapsed in his play-pen and been rushed to Tampa General. As the Doctors examined him a young nurse sat down beside Jason and Suzy in the waiting room. "We just need some details" she said, it will only take a few minutes. Name, address, Insurance number, and so on. Can you read over and check the details Mr Bastow please" Jason read  the document and according to the nurse when interviewed by Detective Richards, he seemed to enter some sort of dream like state. So much so that the nurse shook him by the arm asking if everything was Ok. He then in the nurse's words, stood up, shook his head and walked off down the corridor, his wife remained seated. What Jason Bastow had discovered was that he was blood type A while his now alleged son Peter was blood type B. When he confronted his wife she admitted to having an affair with a Lab Technician where she worked around the time of Peters conception. The marriage broke down, Jason applied for and was accepted to the post of Assistant Clinical Physiologist for the Western District of Miami. This position would include dealing with prisoners both young and old who were categorized, Special Needs. This move was meant to create space between himself and his wife but the trauma of what had happened drove Jason into a dark place, a place of alcohol and misery. He never saw his wife or her son again and for five years drifted from relationship to relationship, all ending badly, sometimes even violently as one police report put it, "This guy wanders around in a semi-conscious state at all times, if his employers were aware of this he would be on skid-row. His saving grace was in fact Corey Stevens now in his second term as Governor of Florida. They had remained friends and on more than one occasion his influence had been the difference between freedom and a prison sentence. By 2011 it was time for a long holiday, which in the case of Jason Bastow meant Rehab for six months all paid for by his friend Governor Stevens. Jason re-entered the world a new man and was quickly installed in a new venture financed by his long time benefactor. It was a private Psychology practice for the children of the rich and famous who were unwilling to admit to having disturbed children. Records taken from his office revealed that Jason Bastow was a regular visitor to the West Palm Beach  home of a well known business man by the name of  Clark Somerton the owner of one of the largest car dealerships in the State of Florida. Investigations showed that from 2001 until 2011 he was married to a Melissa Gooding, (the now deceased Melissa Taylor) They had one daughter Rebecca who during her now thirteen years of life had been classed as being disturbed and on the day of the fatal killings Jason Bastow had arrived unannounced to deliver the results of his latest meeting with her daughter Rebecca Rebecca Somerton.                                                             Why did he remain at the house into the afternoon? he had no known friendship with the deceased Melissa Taylor, nor did he have, to the knowledge of Richards and Soborno, any prior contact with Cathy Brock or Patrick Malone, so why were all four naked and having a great time? There was also no obvious link between all three and Theo Taylor. The case had stonewalled, but worse was to come. Molly Maguire.
