Chapter 1
Stella's Pov:
Listening to the peaceful sound of the water fall and watching the starry night, I think to myself when was the last time I had acually been happy.
Ever since my sister moved to the other side of the world, there really hasn't been a purpose in my life to be happy for.
I feel a tear slip down my cheek, followed by more and more as I keep thinking about all the times we spent together, when everything was almost perfect.
I had become pretty quiet and kept everyone out of my life after it all happened. I had become depressed after she left, and I still am.
This was the place where I could escape from everything and everyone out in the world. I found it quite amazing how no one ever came here.
It all happened about two months ago, when I came back from school crying. I was so distracted by my crying, I didn't even realize where I was going.
Suddenly, I heard what appeared to be a river; as I kept walking, I realized it was this beautiful waterfall, deep in the forest. It was incredible how such a simple thing in nature can be so amazing at the same time.
I really hated the fact my sister had moved to New York, but I knew it would have been very selfish of me telling her to stay with me and leave all her dreams behind.
My sister had always been there for me. She was like the mom we never had. Jane was the sweetest, most caring person I had ever met. She always gave up everything for me.
Whenever she was invited to parties, sleepovers and shopping trips, she always refused to let me stay home alone.
She didn't want to return home and find out something had hapened to me; none of us did.
Jane had always been a smart girl. Once she graduated highschool, she had been offered many great opportunities. She had always had a passion for art, whether it was photography, fashion, painting, sculpting, or also sound egineering, which was quite different but still, she loved it.
She got offered a job, but if she wanted it, she had to move over there. She kept on telling me she couldn't leave me, but it was just too much for me. I couldn't have lived with the fact she didn't follow her dreams just because of me. Her defenseless little sister.
She had always given up everything for me, and I was definitely not letting me hold her back. At last, she finally decided to leave, and take the job of becoming a photographer and stylist and an extra job as a sound person at concerts or something and as much as I hated it, I was happy for her. I decided to check what time it was , so I slipped out my phone out of my pocket.
2:54am
Shoot.
I wiped away the tears, stood up and started walking home. I passed the coffee shop I passed by everyday, and fnally spotted a little house at the very end of the street. I finally reached the door and opened it as slowly as possible, trying to go in without being heard. I entered, and then quietly shut it. I succesfully arrived to my room and got changed into my pajamas.I got in bed and as usual cried myself to sleep, remebering I had to go back to school again the next day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I woke up to the sound of my very annoying alarm. As I lazily reach my arm out to turn it off, I loose my balance and fall off my bed. Lovely Stella, just a lovey way to start the day...
I stand up and walk over to my bathroom and turn on the shower. As I wait for the water to get hot, I walk over to my closet and pick out an outfit. I grab my dark blue skinny jeans, a white tank top, and a black hoodie with the word LOVE in bright red letters on it.
I walk back to my bathroom and strip out of my clothes and get in the shower. My body is met by the warm water, relaxing me and just warming me up. As I wash my hair, I quitely sing U Smile by Justin Bieber. I"m not a huge fan, but I don't hate him either, I guess his music is alright.
As I finish, I walk out of the bathroom and get dressed. Then I decide to just put my long, brown hair into a messy bun and some mascara. I don't really wear much make-up, I just don't see why girls need to wear so much.
I Finally walk out of my room and go downstairs and grab my backpack.
I look at the clock which reads 7:16am .
I walk out not bothering to eat breakfast and get in my car, which was Jane's car before she let. I drive out of the driveway and head to school.
I hate school. There is nothing I hate more than going to school.
I get there and then grab my backpack and get out. I start walking towards the school's entrance and then walk in. I walk down the hallways and as usual, earn stares from almost every single person who sees me. I try to swallow the lump in my throat trying not to cry as I finally reach my locker.
I open it and like every other day, about 10 notes fall out of it. All of them probably from Ally and the rest of her slutty little friends...
I walk n my classrooomand take a seat at the very back of the classroom, where the teahcer won't call on me, or even notice me. I sit there waiting for class to start and just get this day over with already.
"Hello there Stella." Ally and her group say to me. I roll my eyes and say,
"Please just leave me alone..."
"Why? Cuz you don't have any friends who can stick up for you?" She says giving me a fake smile, whlie her friends laugh at me.
I just stayed slient and she laughed.
"Yeah, that's what I thought. Loser." She says while turning around and walking off, her ridiculously tall high heels clicking as she walks over to her seat.
Ally is the kind of girl who has that mean girl look the second you see her.
The long blonde hair, blue eyes and the excesive amount of make-up, not to mention her extremely short skirts and well, you get the point.
Just as I look up, I see Mrs.Monroe enter the classroom. She begins the lesson and then the bell rings. Finally the class is over but now it"s the worst part of the day: Luchtime.
I enter the cafeteria, and take a seat in the usual small table at the corner where no one wants to be at.
I go grab my lunch and just as I'm walking back, someone crashed into me, spilling all my lunch all over me. Great. Just freaking great.
"I am so sorry!" The girl says."I did not mean to!" She apologizes.
"It"s ok. I know you didn't mean to," I say, while cleaning up all the food on me.
"Hi, I"m Baily." She said givng me a warm smile. I was a little taken back at her gesture but smiled.
"Stella." I say, and she smiles.
I was kind of shocked but I had the feeling I might just finally make a friend. After all the years of pain, I might just...just maybe finally make a friend.
