TW: Drugging, chaining someone up, kidnapping, tooth removal, blood, crying

Kai squinted, rubbing at her eyes as they slowly sat up, peering around the dark basement concerned. "Hello? Is-Is anyone-" Trying to stand, they look down at the chains locked around his waist, connecting her to the wall. "...What?"

"You just couldn't stay out of it, could you?" A light flickers on, and Kai finds himself face to face with Patton Heart himself.

"You-" Kai takes in a deep breath of air, cutting off when he waved a poster in her face.
One of the missing posters she had made last year for Virgil.

"First you made these, and then this year after I took my son back home, you hired a private investigator?" Patton accuses angerily.

"He's not your son." Kai builds up the courage to say. "Please, please just let us go, he's the only family I have left, and I need to look after him-"

"Well congratulations, Kai. Let's have a little reunion, yeah?"

Despite the horrible circumstances, Kai perked up as Patton headed up the stairs. They would be able to see Virgil, after all this time?
To make sure he was okay.

"Virgil! Can you come down now please? Patton yells.

Kai waits with bated breath.

Please be okay, please be okay, please be-

"Okay dad!" Virgil yells, running into the kitchen and stopping short when he sees Patton waiting by the basement door. "What?"

"Come with me please, Virgey." Patton smiles, noticing the scared look on his son's face as he started to tear up. "I promise you're not in trouble."

"O-kay." Virgil sniffles, wiping at his tears as he took his father's hand and followed him into the basement.

"Virgil." Kai breathes out, relieved. She strained against the chains, trying to get to his brother as Virgil looked up at Patton, unsure.

"It's alright baby." Patton reassures him, and Kai scowls.

"Kai!" Forgetting his fear, the boy ran over to Kai and enveloped them in the tightest hug Kai had felt in a while. "You came back!"

"What?" Kai looks at him in confusion. "Are you okay Vee?"

"Yeah!"

"Virgey." Patton interrupts. "Kai brought something for you."

"You did!" Virgil bounces in place excitedly.

"Yeah, on that chair over there." Patton points, and Virgil gasps and rushes over to where his old baby blanket was draped over a chair.

"Blanky! I missed you! Thank you Kai!"

Kai swallows. "No problem buddy. It's gonna be okay."

"What?" Virgil smiles at her in confusion.

"Sit down please, Vee-Vee." Patton instructs.

Virgil settles into the seat with a smile, looking on nervously as Patton grabbed some ropes and started to tie him down.

"Dad?" Virgil worries, "What's going on?"

"Your brother got into trouble when she was on their trip, opening a private investigation. I'm afraid I've had to make arrangements."

"No!" Kai strains forward, realizing what Patton was implying. "Don't you touch him! He didn't do anything, you sick bastard!"

Virgil begins to cry, moving around in the chair. "What's going on?" He whines.

"Hold still." Patton demands, grabbing some pliers off a table and holding Virgil's shoulder to stop his squirming.

"Dad, I'm scared!" Virgil cries, his lip trembling.

"Don't worry baby, it'll all be over in a minute." Patton moves his hand to Virgil's neck and forces his mouth open, moving the pliers inside before he could close it again.

"Stop it!" Kai yells.

Virgil screams when Patton attaches the pliers to Virgil's teeth and begins to pull. "'op! 'op! 'ease 'a!"

Blood gushes out from Virgil's mouth as Patton yanks out the tooth, Virgil screaming bloody murder. Grabbing a vial, Patton sticks it in Virgil's mouth and allows some blood to fill it, before pulling it out and sticking a cotton gauze into his mouth to stop the bleeding.

"Fuck you!" Kai cries, tears rolling down her face. "He didn't do anything you fucking heartless monster! It was my fault!"

"Ohh, I know." Patton says calmly, leaving the struggling Virgil in the chair and walking over to them. "That's why I'm taking two."

Kai's eyes widen as Patton forcibly shoves his mouth open and clamps the pliers around one of their back molars. Kai struggles fleetingly as Patton yanks the tooth out and drops it onto the table next to Virgil's.

Patton hurriedly moves back over to Kai and yanks a second tooth out with the same ferocity. Grabbing a different vial, Patton sets the tooth down and collects Kai's blood, then puts two cotton gauzes into her mouth.

"Ohh, you've got a blood clot there." Patton notices sadistically, peering into their mouth.

"That must hurt."

Kai sobbed in time with his brother, both of them wondering in different ways how Patton could do something like that.

Patton unties Virgil, who practically throws himself into Patton's arms.

"I know, baby." Patton coos. "I'm sorry. Do you forgive me?"

Virgil sobs more, but manages to nod his head before Patton sets him down next to Kai.
