Ruby was on the train back to Holby since she spent the day in London with some old school mates as her phone started ringing. Ruby answered it and said" Hey babe missed me?"

Iain chuckled and said" I've missed you all day so how was London" as Ruby said" Yeah it was very good we went into clothing shops, had lunch at the pub then spent the afternoon on the London eye also got something special for you."

Just then the brakes failed to break on the train tracks when the train crashed and rolled over onto the gravel. Loads of people were injured, some unconscious and some dead as Ruby was laying unconscious also her legs were trampled.

The red phone rang in the ED as Lara answered it and got the information written down on the notepad. Lara went to find Charlie as she said" Major train crash also they need available paramedics and doctors at the scene."

Charlie nodded and organized a team as Harry rounded up the paramedics and said" Major train crash so we need all available paramedics" as all the paramedics got into the ambulances and drove to the crash site.

When they arrived all of the paramedics took in the scene as Iain said" That's the train Ruby was on" as all the paramedics accepted their hard hats including the green bags from the back of the ambulance.

Iain ran down the stairs to the train as he was looking for Ruby. He found the carriage that Ruby was in and climbed in as glass was everywhere but that didn't stop Iain getting to his lovely girlfriend Ruby.

Iain muttered and said" Rubes sweetie wake up let me hear your lovely voice" as he stroked her hair. Iain picked up his radio and said" Josh I've found Ruby she's in a bad way and unconscious also I'm in the third carriage" as Josh replied saying" Ok Iain we are on our way."

Iain sat down near Ruby and held her hand as tears were forming in his eyes also he said" Rubes even though you might not hear me I just want to say I love you and if you survive I'll take you on holiday."

Minutes later Lara, Penny and Josh came through the wreckage and found Iain crying as Josh said" Iain we are here now also we are going to save Ruby and we've got Lara so let us do our job."

Iain nodded as Lara, Josh and Penny began treatment. Hours later Lara made a decision and said" Let's take Ruby to hospital then she can get proper treatment at the hospital."

Iain nodded and went into the back of the ambulance with Ruby, Josh and Lara as minutes later they arrived at the hospital as Ruby was rushed into RESUS. Anna, Patrick and Simon began treatment on Ruby as Iain looked through the door and sighed.

Suddenly Ruby's breathing was unstable as Patrick said" We need to intubate." Simon got the ventilator and put the tube into Ruby's mouth to help her breathe so Anna said" We need to tell Iain as he'll be worried."

Simon went to find Iain standing by the ambulance and said" Iain I've got bad news as Ruby's breathing was unstable also her injuries are critical. Anna and Patrick has taken Ruby up to the ICU ward so that she can be monitored by loads of experience nurses and doctors."

Iain couldn't believe it as he ran past Simon and took the lift to the ICU ward where he found a nurse and said" Hi my name is Iain Dean and Simon told me that my girlfriend Ruby Hutchens is in this ward."

The nurse nodded and took Iain to Ruby's room as she said" Since you are her partner you are allowed to stay as long as you like." Iain nodded and opened the door to find Ruby being hooked up to monitors and on a ventilator.

Iain sat down in the chair and held Ruby's hand as he said" Hey gorgeous I still love you and when you recover I'll take you on holiday to the Caribbean or Spain. Iain put his head on the pillow and closed his eyes.

Next morning Iain woke up and found Comfort standing saying" Hey sleepy head Josh has given you some time off and I've brought you a bacon roll, hash brown and a hot chocolate from McDonald's now take them."

Iain took the roll and ate it saying" I love Ruby as I thought we was gonna get married and having a future together" as Comfort said" Why don't you talk to Harry as he might have some answers.
