Peter plucks the perfect emotional chord.

He has no idea how he does it, what with all the chaos erupting inside him, but somehow he reaches deep within and pulls it forth.

Peter's humor for tonight's game is the faceless girl again. He's finding he minds her less and less every time she shows up. Turns out, she's quite an effective whirlwind. Besides, it's not like he can totally control what he manifests yet. She always seems to spring out of him, unbidden. And this time she's holding a giant replica of his own electric guitar.

Peter focuses his attention on the Jackalopes' opponents. They have a certain reputation. Skyline hail from a private school located in Filigree, one of Barnum's many boroughs. Filigree serves as the city's financial district and these rich kids will apparently do anything it takes to win.

Each team's manifestation station stands huddled at the back of their turf, while each city is split in two, ten buildings to a corner. Peter's humor has somehow already gotten itself entangled in a wrestling match with one of the Skyline tubs. They're currently both rolling around in the dirt. It doesn't seem likely, at least to Peter, that his humor will be pacified anytime soon. At this precise moment, his faceless humor is wielding her guitar like a battering ram against the Skyline tub.

At the other end of the court, the Skyline thaumaturge, jockeying a tub with the call sign Big League, has manifested a gigantic bull humor made out of what appears to be one hundred dollar bills. They flutter; paper fur in the wind, every green hair sporting the unmistakable portrait of Benjamin Franklin. The money bull's crinkled hooves claw at the grass while its nostrils flare, sending great puffing breaths spiraling up into the cold air.

The money bull charges forward, leaving Big League to gawp in its wake. Its creator is in awe of his own creation. Peter frowns in disgust.

These Filigree kids are something else.

Without much warning, the Skyline humor smashes into its own tub, sending it rolling away from Peter's faceless girl. The faceless girl stands, swinging her guitar in wide sweeps in front of her to keep the bull at bay. The bull, obviously never the most patient of humors, tires of this game rather quickly. It stomps its hooves and tries yet another charge. This time, instead of simply swinging her guitar, the faceless girl brings it right smack on top of the bull's horns. The bull goes down and the girl jumps over it.

Another wrestling match.

Meanwhile, as this humor duel has been developing, all three Skyline jockeys have advanced with their tubs into Jackalopes turf. Each portion of Jackalopes city is defended by one Jackalopes wrangler, Sage to the left and Gee to the right. It seems they've both resigned themselves to playing shield.

Despite their opponents' advance, however, Peter smiles.

There's no one between him and either Skyline city.
