Nina smoothed down the non-existent creases in her black skirt. She was waiting to be interviewed by someone named Greg. She was in a boardroom-type room. The windows allowed you to see across the city of Dallas.

Nina picked at her manicured nails as she continued to wait for Greg. She hadn't been in an interview since she was fresh out of high school. She had performed her due diligence and read up on how interviews were handled and what she should and shouldn't do.

Nina was still in thought when she heard the door open, and a man clears his throat. Nina stood up when she saw the tall, blonde-haired guy. He gave her a sweet smile.

Nina smiled back at him.

"You must be Nina," he said. "I'm Greg."

"I am," she said, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you."

Nina was about to sit down like Greg asked when she saw a familiar face. She stopped dead in her tracks and widened her eyes.

"This is Tristan, the father. He wanted to be present during this interview. You don't mind, do you?" Greg asked.

Nina was still staring at the man she finally recognized from Walmart. She couldn't forget his face, not only because it was handsome, but for the simple fact that he had made her angry.

Tristan smirked at her and raised his brow, as if asking her what she planned to do next. She didn't think she could work for a man as arrogant as him, but what other choice did she have? She needed a job badly, so she would suck up whatever antagonizing feelings she had toward him and do her best to ace the interview.

Nina glanced back at Greg. "I don't mind."

Tristan was indeed the arrogant type. She had dated and married a guy like him and she really hated the fact that if she got the job; she had to be around him for longer than a second.

They both rounded the long desk to sit in front of her. Nina told herself to keep her eyes focused on Greg and not look in Tristan's direction. It was hard, since she could feel his eyes on her.

Nina tucked her now long braided hair behind her ear. It had taken her hours the day before to get it braided. She wanted to be on time for the interview and sometimes her hair took too long to do in the morning, so braids were her best bet.

"Nina, I'm so glad you could make it to the interview," Greg said, still smiling at her.

"Thank you so much for having me," she said, grinning back at him.

Nina squirmed in her seat when out of the corner of her eye she saw Tristan smirk at her.

Crap!

How was she supposed to get through the interview when his entire presence irked her?

"Let's get on to the interview, shall we?" Greg said.

"Sure."

"Tell me about yourself," Greg said.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Tristan put his elbows on the table and place his chin on his folded hands. Nina placed her hands and her lap, telling herself the mantra of keeping her eyes glued to Greg.

Nina proceeded to tell him how she had experience in babysitting and how she had also worked as a nanny in her earlier years and how she had really enjoyed it. She had also told him she had tutored smaller children when she was in high school. It was like a big brother big sister program.

Greg noted down what she said and seemed like he was pleased with what she was telling him. She made the mistake of glancing in Tristan's direction. He was staring at her so intently that her stomach did all types of somersaults and triple axles.

She looked away, back at Greg, who noticed their exchange and grinned.

"Why do you think you would be a good fit for this job?" Greg asked.

It went on like that for what felt like a century. He continued to ask her the standard interview questions for someone applying for a nanny position. She had read up on what to do and say, so she was feeling good.

She made sure she didn't sound unconfident, and she smiled and looked at Greg when she spoke to him. She also asked him questions about what the work environment would be like and if she would be an in-house nanny or one who came by the house.

Nina was surprised when Greg told her it would be an in-house nanny position.

"Is that a problem?" Tristan asked.

Nina looked in his direction to find him smirking once again. She really wanted to wipe that smirk off his face.

Nina controlled the irritation brewing inside her and gave him a fake smile.

"No, it wouldn't be a problem."

It would really be a problem since she couldn't stand the sight of him.

"That's excellent," Greg said. "I'll get back to you if we want you for the position."

Nina smiled and stood up. "I hope to hear from you soon."

She hoped she won Greg over, but also Tristan too. After all, Tristan would make the final decision and she needed a job as soon as possible.

Nina didn't turn to look at Tristan, but she could feel his eyes on her once again.
