"Boys! You're going on a trip, to the Banther Lodge!" The king announced joyously but hiding a hint of tension in his voice. "But it's spring. That's the winter lodge." Callum asked confused.

"But that is the winter lodge." Callum said exactly in time to his onscreen counterpart. Whilst the Elven assassins made a mental note of where the princes would be.

"Eh. Winter is coming eventually." The king countered,
"What will we do? Everything fun there has to do with snow or ice." Ezran asked back.
"Maybe you can invent new versions using dirt and rocks. You could build a dirt man! Or, what about mud-sledding? That could be a thing! Look, this is something I need you to do." He was running out of options to get get his boys to counter him.
"Dad-"
"It's decided. You'll leave before sundown, so go get packed up." It was clear he didn't want to order is sons but they were pushing a bit too much.
"Yes, sir. Come on, Ez." Callun replied, ushering Ezran out of the throne room.
"Why's he sending us away? Something's wrong!"
"Everything's going to be fine. All right? I'm sure of it." He tried to reassure his younger brother despite his obvious concern.

"Boys I'm right here ok? Everything will be fine. The full moon only lasts one night after all." This seemed to calm Ezran but did little if anything for Callum. Viren was still worried about his friend.

Elsewhere Lord Viren had gathered his own two children together in a private room.
"What's going on, Father?" Soren lazily asked.
"We have visitors from Xadia, Unwanted visitors." Viren scowled at the word Xadia.
"What are they, minstrels or something?" Soren joked,

Everyone humans, elves and half breeds alike facepalmed at his ridiculous joke. Viren tried to reprimand his son for joking about such a serious matter but gave up knowing that he would not take it seriously. Yet again the elves were in shock at human idiocy.

"Assassins!" Claudia harshly whispered to her brother with a look on her face.
"I know! What do you think, I'm an idiot?" Claudia's 'considering it' look was met with a huff.
"They've set up a secret camp somewhere near the base of the cliffs. Soren, you will lead an attack." Ignoring his son and daughter's childish antics he continued.
"Right. Their secret camp. How am I supposed to find it if it's secret?"
"These assassins are Moonshadow elves. They draw power from the Moon. Inside this box is an Archangel Lunaris a giant moon moth. It will be drawn to their energy. Follow it, and you will find them." He narrated carefully for his son to understand.
"And what happens if I can't find them?" Soren asked a bit more seriously.
"Then we may be on the brink of changing times."
"You're saying they'll kill the king?" Soren panicked. With Claudia looking equally concerned in the background.
"Discretion, boy! Do you want to cause a panic?" Soren barked whilst closing the curtains on an eavesdropping Callum.

"Callum no eavesdropping." The king told his unofficial son.
"It's kind of hard not to when they are literally talking about your murder.
"Well as I will not be being murdered there is no reason to listen in."
"Oh I wouldn't be all to sure about the oh great human king, I may have fallen short on my own but I'll have the rest of the group with me this time around." Rayla reminded the king.
Viren immediately took offence to this and demanded an apology for such blasphemy. I again had to step in before it got ugly.

"I'm sorry-"
"Just get out there and find them. Before sundown!" With that Soren raced out of the room to prepare a search and destroy party. While Claudia hung back with their father.
"So, if these are really Moonshadow elves, then once the moon rises..."
"They'll be unstoppable." Viren forlornly told his youngest.
"Well, I'm going to find a way to stop them. After all, "unstoppable" is just another kind of 'stoppable.'"
"No. That's not really right." Viren sighed.
