The night was enveloped in a warm silence. It was decided by the majority to travel early the next morning except for Mr. Saavedra who seems to have loads of work to deal with.

The house has three bedrooms; two on the second floor and one on the ground floor. Kas and Aya shared a room on the second floor and Tita Ana and Martha slept in another room while we – three men – shared the biggest room on the ground floor.

The day went well than what Kas and I least expected it. But the thought of losing my company frighten me in an unexplainable reason.

Of course, no one would want to lose someone's property, even though I haven't remembered all the sacrifices I made in keeping the company firm in a long time, it seems like I still have to do something to prevent it from happening. But how?

The next morning, Martha's scream which is coming from the second floor made the three of us jolted up in our sleep.

"Martin! Martin!" I heard Kas's voice over the door as she was banging our door.

"I'm coming, Keirst. Lemme just get my things." Martin jumped out of bed as he ransacked his bag getting a small white bottle and ran up to the stairs. Dazed and confused, I ran after him leaving the unmoved Nick on his bed.

"What happened, Kas?" As I reached their room, I saw Tita Ana trying to calm Martha that is clutching her head and shaking vigorously. On the corner of the room, Aya was calming down the crying Kas. The moment she saw me standing outside the door, she rushed to my side and hugged me.

"Shh, she'll be fine. Martin is helping her out."I tried to calm her down even though I know for myself that my heart is pounding at an irregular pace due to nervousness and shock. I never experience this kind of thing firsthand; right in front of my eyes. Although I heard a few screams while lying on the hospital bed weeks ago, witnessing it made me felt pity for Martha.

"I want to be by her side." I blurted to Kas. She looked up at me with teary eyes before nodding and letting me go. I rushed towards Martha's side. Martin already gave her medicine but it seems like the effect is not yet coming up.

"Aaarrrrgghhh!" Martha's scream is deafening. I hugged her tightly and whispered some words. Trying to direct her attention to the crushing pain she is having.

"Shh, sweetie. You're a brave girl, right. Now I want you to fight those monsters and tell them to go away. Okay?" I said.

"Daddy! Daddy! It—it hurts!" she's shouting between her sobs while still pressing both her hands on her head.

"Please, make it – stop. Make – it—stop, daddy!"She kept on repeating those words over and over. It took almost ten minutes to see her slowly calms down.

She falls back to sleep in my shoulders. I tried to lay her back on the bed but she stirred and won't let go.

Kas is already calm now, so are the rest of us. Aya and Martin stand near the bedroom door while Kas was hugging Tita Ana. I look at their worried face, especially Tita Ana. She walked up to me and sat on the bed.

"Thank you." She looks straight into my eyes and smiled genuinely. She looked down at Martha and wiped the remaining tears on her cheeks.

"I'll—I will just go and prepared—uhm – our stuff. It's almost five in the morning. I think we need to go back to the hospital – immediately." After saying that, she walked away and talked to Kas, Martin, and Aya. After a moment, they walked out of the room leaving only Kas, me, and the sleeping Martha.

"I wanted to ask Martin – I mean, Doc Simon—if it will be okay to return back to the company as soon as possible. I mean, I just don't want to sit comfortably at home while the company is slowly dying. I wanted to do something." I said at last.
