Monday came and we need to go back to the library. News about the incident last Friday night was kept mum. We were asked by the police to recover the evidence after we narrated what happened in the investigative report as witnesses.

The initial plan was to recover it on Saturday but Nick was summoned by his father upon hearing the news. Something that we never thought could happen. I mean, who could've reported the incident to his father, right? When 8 individuals, 4 police officers, and Mr. Sean were the only ones involved.

Now, we need to attend classes first with partially swollen faces and scars. As we entered the classroom, our classmates seem shocked by our appearance. Who wouldn't? We are both in the top student list in our department and fighting seems like not in the list of our things to pursue-- their words.

When lunchtime came, Nick and I rushed towards the library. We only got an hour and 30 minutes to search, to hand that video camera to the police, and eat lunch before our next class will begin.

The library is currently unavailable because of the incident but the head of the school board just made an excuse to prevent gossip from traveling around, knowing that their major investor's son is involved.

"Good morning, Ms. Morris." I greeted as I saw her sweeping the shards of glass from the broken trophies.

'Oops'

I heard Nick whispered beside me as he showed a guilty awkward smile.

"Well, if it isn't Mr. Collins and Mr. Gaviona. I assume you're both here for something?" She set the broom aside and wipe her hands off with dust. "Mr. Sean had filled me in with the details about last night. I haven't touch anything other than this mess. Go on, and find what you came here for." She smiles. Nick was the first one to walk away as soon as he said thanks. I was about to take a step towards the other end of the library too when Ms. Morris said something.

"Thank you."

My forehead creased as I was somewhat confused about that was she thanking for.

"For protecting Angel, she'd been to so much pain already, emotionally. Thank you." I saw a tear fall from her eyes but she quickly brushed it off and smiled. "I'll just be out for a while" she sigh.

After an hour, Nick found the video camera. He said he forgot where he hid it because he was in a rush that night and the place was dark so it'll be hard to know where he went to. We immediately went to the police station. But upon entering, I saw Mr. Ramsay sitting beside Ben on one of the couch. As soon as he saw us, he stood up. It's as if he's been waiting for us.

"Mr. Collins and Mr. Gaviona." The way he mentioned my name feels like he's controlling his temper. He gazes his son with ferocious eyes, before sighing deeply.

"I am here to make a deal. Court trials are tiring, I must say. Besides, I don't want to take up my time with senseless arguments." Senseless arguments? How inhumane of him to call bullying a senseless thing to argue about.

I look at Ben and he seems not bothered by his father's choice of words. Is this why he became a bully?

"I assume, bullying is not just some senseless argument, Mr. Ramsay." All eyes diverted towards the newly arrived person.

Dad

"Mr. Collins, what a pleasant surprise." Mr. Ramsay said but his tone face said otherwise.

"Dad, why are you here?"

I whispered but his reply seems to be directed more to the opposing side than to me.
