It had been a peaceful day in New Rome. I was just finishing up some homework for my oceanology class at uni when I got the call. I know what you're thinking...I'm actually going to university in New Rome and not saving the world or something? Well, its true! Buuuut knowing my life, that's probably the schedule for next week.
Anyway, back to the call.
"Hello?" I say as I pick up my cell phone. (Now I know what you're going to say, "why are you using technology", "do you want to be attacked by monsters?", "didn't Annabeth warn you better?", but I only have one because OF Annabeth. She insisted. Okay?)
I always carry this phone around and only use it in case of emergencies, so... I knew this call couldn't be good.
"Hello?", I say again-a little more panicked this time.
"Percy!", I hear Piper shout into the phone, "you've got to get home now!" And with that, she hangs up.
I'm freaked now. What happened? Is Annabeth okay? Did someone spot something on camp's borders? Oh gods, please let everyone be okay.
I sprinted home in record time. Annabeth and I live in a modest cottage on the outer circle of town that Wise Girl designed herself. It will be perfect for when we decide to start our family, but Annabeth has a rule that I need to pop the question before we can start any of that. This, surprisingly, is one rule I have no intention of breaking.

WAIT! That can happen later. Right now, I need to find out what gave Piper the need to call me.
I rush into the house, feeling a tugging in my stomach as I prepare to use my abilities on an unseen attacker. Adrenaline flowing fast and thorough through my body causes me to have to take a second look at what I see. It's not an attacker and no one seems to be dying. No. What I see is worse then what even I was imagining,
A lot worse.
