JJ Maybank- Let the river run

Part 2

BANG! BANG! BANG1 went a knock at the door, JJ and River awoke suddenly, not sure what was happening. JJ went to check it out and River followed finding Kie and Pope at the door. "We're going to Heyward's to figure out how to get the gold from Tannyhill," Pope declared. "Have you lost your mind Pope? I thought we were over this, we nearly lost our best friends over this treasure hunt! I'm done with this" River was frustrated. JJ butted in and said "well, if River's not in I'm not in" looking at them sincerely, "Come on guys we spent all our time looking for the gold only to give it up! your dad would be disappointed!" Kiara argued, "Don't bring my dad into this!" yelled River. "Look I'm sorry for saying that, but please it'll be the best thing" Kiara apologised, "Fine but if anyone dies, it's on you" he said, looking her dead in the eye.

The Pouges VAN was still at the chateau so they had to take Kie's car to Heywards. "Hi Mr Heyward" , Kie exclaimed happily when he saw him. "What are you guys up to?" he replied, "Not much but we gotta make it quick so um bye" River stated.

River sat on the counter with Kie whilst the boys stood in front of them. "So if the gold is at Tannyhill it's gonna be hard to get back so we have to clear John B's name and wait 'till Sarah and John B come back and then go get the gold" River explained. "Sarah will be the only one who knows her way around Tannyhill" Pope continued to explain. "So we wait until they get back," JJ decreed. Kie questioned "what do we do in the meantime?" "we play it by year," River said. "What does that even mean?" JJ asked "Dunno heard a stranger say it" River chuckled. Back at JJ's house, River and JJ were sitting on the porch. "I'm really hungry dude" JJ started. "Yeah me too, let's go get some food" River replied "but how? we don't have any money" JJ sighs "How we always get stuff, WE STEAL" River laughed.

River and JJ were out the front of the closest convenience store on the cut. "Aight, so we go in with our hoods up, act normal like we're about to pay then.." River started. "THEN RUN" JJ finished. River laughed "yes correct JJ". They casually walked in trying to stay out of the security camera's view. They walked down all the aisles, grabbing what they needed. As they slowly crept toward the counter, they looked at eachother, nodded and ran.

"HEY GET BACK HERE YOU HAVE TO PAY FOR THOSE!!!!" the old guy at the counter yelled. They ran and ran until they couldn't anymore. "Dude that was close" JJ huffed and puffed between fits of laughter. "I know right! he was mad," River laughed back. Slowly  as they got their breath back and were able to stop laughing, they walked back to JJ's house.

While putting away the stolen groceries River dropped a bag of chips on the floor. At that very instant both Pogues reached down to get it, touching their hands by accident. River awkwardly picked up the chips as JJ started to stare at her in the eyes. River felt the butterflies but wasn't sure if it was real or what it meant so she just looked away awkwardly. JJ seemed deflated but quickly went back to acting normal and doing what they had been doing before... putting away the groceries.

"Hey JJ I heard there was a kegger at the boneyard, did you wanna go?" asked River "Yeah sure we should probably ask Kie and Pope to come too though" JJ replied. "Let's go now then".
