JJ Maybank- Let the river run

Part 1

It had been a week since River's brother John B and his girlfriend supposedly drowned at sea and the Pogues were at an all time low. The Pogues were hanging out at JJ's house, as JJ's dad Luke was out on the mainland with a few mates. Kie and Pope had been trying to cheer River and JJ up and had taken them out on Pope's dad's boat to enjoy the fresh air. They all knew they couldn't go back to the Chateau due to the fact that River had been on the run from foster care and if she was seen there, they'd send her back to the mainland in a hot second.

Being out on the water was what made the Pogues happiest, as soon as they stepped foot onto the boat they were instantly ten times happier. The Pogues were made up of the poorest people in the working class community of the Outer banks. They would say they were the people who no one cared about, the people who had little to no money, but they were proud that they cared about each other and always knew how to have a good time regardless of their financial situation.

Ever since John B and Sarah disappeared, River and JJ had been joined by the hip. All of a sudden Kiara's phone started to ring and a number from the Bahamas popped up on the screen. "Well answer it!" River yelled at Kie. "hello" "River, JJ, Pope and Kie are you guys ok? it's me John B" a far too familiar voice said through the phone. River with tears welling in her eyes said "John B, Sarah where are you? Are you ok? I miss you so much!". John B replied "Yeah, me and Sarah are ok I'll explain more when we get back but don't tell anyone about this until our names are cleared" JJ called out "dude I missed you so much I thought you were dead". "Tell everyone we said hi and we'll be back soon, we're about to board a boat, also the gold is still at Tannyhill" Sarah announced.

Pope and Kie hugged each other in celebration while River and JJ did the same. After being out on the water for a while longer, River and JJ went back to JJ's house, Kie and Pope returned to their own houses. "Hey JJ, thank you so much for being a shoulder to cry on through all this," chimed River. "It's ok I know you would do the same and you're my best friend. I love you so much" JJ replied. River wasn't sure if JJ meant this in a 'more than friends' vibe or if they were just friends, but either way she was comforted by it.

Later that night, River fell into a deep sleep whilst laying in JJ's arms on the couch. She felt as happy as ever that her brother was ok and she was safe and supported with JJ.
