"Dalilah.." I said softly as I sat on the counter of the kitchen, I watched her make dinner, homade chicken soup. I saw the golden ring on her finger. Tried not think about it too much.

She chopped up some carrots "yes dear?" She smiled.

I took a piece and chomped on it. "Where are my parents?" I looked at her.

"What do you mean? I am your parent." Her smile fade, scrapping the carrots into the boiling pot.

"I mean my real parents." I watched her freeze, the tention grew between us. "I know your not my my real mom.... We look nothing alike..." I added.

She bites her bottom lip and glances at me. "I don't know sweetie." She turns to me and held my hands tightly. The sight of her hands on mine, calmed my nerves. "I don't know."

"What do you mean?" I asked, pulling my hands away slowly.

She sighed roughly as she pulled out celery and started cutting it. "I found you on the street." She spoke softly. My eyes widen as I stared at my toes. "You were just a small thing, sleeping in a box. I couldn't just leave you there."

"Did you see anything happen before then?" I questioned.

She shook her head. "I came across you after shopping a block away. I don't know how long you were out there hun." She scrapped the pieces of celery in the pot.

I hopped off the counter and looked at her a last time before heading upstairs.

The thoughts, ran through my head like on a treadmill. It would not stop. Resting my forehead against the wall, till there was a red mark. I then look at the clock. 6:47 p.m. I could smell the food, so I headed downstairs.

Br-Brady~~

Brady... Who are you?~~

My eyes shot open, my room was dark, no light except from the moon shinning through my window. I tucked my hand underneath my head and started falling back to sleep.

B-Braaaaaaaddyyyyy~~

I sat up quickly, hyperventilating. "WHO'S THERE?" my eyes scanned the room. I heard a voice, I know I did. I took a deep breath and threw the blanket off of me. Standing In The middle of my room, scanning it again multiple time. Hoping nothing was gonna kill me.

You... You are Wor-Worthless~~

I twisted my head around. My pulse was going faster than a racehorse. Where is that voice coming from? What's going on? I swallowed my breath "who.. Who are you?"

You can't do anything right~~

I blink a few time, my hands resting on the top of my head. "Is my thoughts talking?" I whispered. My breathing became heavy. "Its... Its just a dream... Yeah! I'll be waking up soon." I closed my eyes tightly as I set myself down in my bed. Pulling to covers over my head.

You're nothing but a nobody!~~

I sit up screaming. Grasping my hair. "LEAVE ME ALONE!" Tears shed from my eyes. Dalilah come dashing into my room with a bat in her hands. She set the bat down and sat on the edge of my bed.

"Are you alright sweetie?" She asked worryingly.

I was hyperventilating. The touch of her hands on my cheek calmed me down. Eventually, I stopped crying after a few minutes.

She looked around my room. "What happen? What's wrong?" She asked.

I licked my dry lips, whipped my wet cheeks with my sleeve, and cleared my throat. "I-I-I thought I heard someone in my room...." Biting the inside of my cheek. "It was just a dream... I'm sorry."

She ran her fingers through my sweaty hair and kissed my forehead. "Its alright hun. I'm just glad you're not harmed."

She got up, grabbing the bat, she looked back at me. "I love you dear."

I managed a smile "love you too Dalilah...." And with that she left.

My heartbeat started beating faster once again. Afraid the voice may come up again. So I stayed up for the rest of the night. I didn't care if it was a school night. I need to be kept sane. I felt like I was going crazy. It was a scary thought, I played a few mini games on my phone until I saw the sunraise. I didn't hear the voice at all after that time. Yawning and stretching, I fell asleep. But not moments later, my phone alarm buzzed loudly into my ear. I placed the pillow over my head and groaned. Pressing the snooze button and falling asleep with ease.

Wake up you piece of shit~~

My eyes shot open, with the right one twitching. I supported myself with my arms as I scanned the room. "WHAT THE FUCK YOU WANT WITH ME?" I yelled angerly at my room.

I finally get up. Only got 10 minutes of sleep, total. I felt miserable. Yawning every 2 seconds and slightly falling asleep while tying my shoe on.

"You... Do not look to hot." I hear Jeremiah come up behind me. I flintched, I was so paranoided. I flicked my hands around, in a karate way. "You alright man?" He asked taking a sip of his energy drink.

I pulled down my eyelids. "DOES....IT LOOK LIKE... IM ALRIGHT?" I groaned. he took a step back and shook his head. "Where's my girlfriend?" I walked around the halls.

"She's not here." Jeremiah spoke. I shot my head back to him.

"What do you mean she's not here?"

He rolled his eyes at me. "Like she is not in the building." He sniffed, looking in his energy drink can.

"And why didn't she text me?" I look down at my phone.

I got no messages, no miss calls, nor emails, nothing. What's going on?

Sh-she don't love you~~

My eyes widen. "N-N-Noo... She does..." I mumbled to myself, leaning forward.

Jeremiah gave me a confused look. "She does what?"

"She does love me..." I breathed heavily.

"Yeah I know bro."

I walked to the office, leaving him behind, without another word. I called Dalilah and told her to pick me up. After she did, I tried blocking out all the voices in my head on the drive home.

Why do you do the things you do?~~

Dalilah doesn't love you~~

She is going to leave you~~

You're gonna be a drop out~~

You FAILURE.~~

Right as we pulled up at the house. I slammed the door open and shut. Stomping up to my room. I began punching the wall, each one got harder. Soon enough there was a dent, almost a hole in the wall. I felt the room spin, hearing the word FAILURE over and over and over.
