Samael's Pov
After Averna dropped me off at the garage, I felt that hollowness which had been a constant in all the years we'd been apart flare up again but this time the hollowness felt lighter, and instead of feeling cold all over, there was warmth within in me now. I began to again wonder what had happened back then because I know Averna wouldn't have left me without some form of explanation or a least a goodbye! I mean we were more than partners, we were lovers, husband and wife, soulmates, we ruled our kingdom side by side and had no secrets between us due to our bond...
2 hours later
Gary said he'd have my bike done by 5 pm and that I was a "lucky son of a gun" since the part of my bike which needed fixing wasn't common and it was by chance that he happen to have some leftover from the sample package he got a while ago. In the meantime, I headed off to find my 'uncle' Henry's place and get the key to his house so I could get the road off me and be lookin' my best for when I next ran into Averna. Turns out that the local garage and the local bar weren't that far away from each other which I shouldn't have been surprised at considering the size of the small town, but still...
The bar or tavern as 'uncle' Henry liked to call it was very modern chic which surprised me considering I'd always known him to be more the dark wood and grey type of man but hey times change and we immortals must change with it. Walking into the bar I smelled Henry before I saw him, it was always like that with the descendants though, they reek of their celestial ancestors no matter how much they try to cover it up. Following the scent I find my way to the bar where a finally spot Henry wiping down the bar top. Glancing up he spots me and a massive smile cracks his face before he says
"Samael, you're here early I didn't expect you till tomorrow!" As he says this I notice he carries a soft scent on him that I recognise and can't place until he comes round to my side of the bar and hugs me, AVERNA! They must know each other but unfortunately Henry never met Averna when she was my Queen so he wouldn't have known that it was her, if he had it would've saved me so much time in my search. After separating I proceed to spend the next few hours telling Henry all about the beautiful woman who helped me get into town after my bike broke down and what I've been doing since we last saw each other.
Later that evening
After spending several hours catching up with Henry and sorting out my stuff in my room I head downstairs to see if I can help with anything but just as I come to the bottom of the stairs I see Averna turning away from Henry who has a resigned look on his face, but just as she's walking away she visibly shivers sensing my eyes watching her and turns back towards Henry before looking at me with her eyes widening slightly in surprise.
"Oh! Hey Samael didn't realise you were here yet? This is Averna my best employee and closest friend. Averna this is my nephew Samael, he's recently just come to town to help me run this place and to continue his studies." Henry officially introduced us not aware that she was the woman I'd be telling him about earlier.
"Thanks, Uncle Henry but we already met on my way into town. Averna here is the woman I was telling you about that gave me a ride to the mechanics when my bike broke down." I confirmed to my uncle who we'd be talking about earlier in the day.
"Oh REALLY!! I should've guesssed when you said a beautiful woman offered you a ride into town to Garry's." Henry chuckled quietly but I noticed that at the mention of Averna being called beautiful a deep flush made its way onto her cheeks and down her neck making me want to follow its path just like I did back in our kingdom after whispering in her ear.
"I'd have to agree, she is rather exquisite..." I trailed off watching her reaction whilst admiring how she had changed since she'd been taken from me. However I noticed her quickly trying to make her escape out of the bar and out to the car park just as I got outside I noticed her opening her car door, so I called out;
"Where are you going Agapi." Calling her by the name I used to call her in private it's a personal nickname only we knew but I put my arm around one side of her so I could spend a little more time with her, she jumped then bumping into my chest. She turned her head sharply to look at my face, locking her eyes with mine I let my true eyes shine through to see if she had any spark of recognition. I saw a flame of familiarity light within her eyes but then they were covered with a look of guilt and betrayal but not at me at herself; like she was betraying someone else by looking into my eyes for this long.
Suddenly she snapped out of the trace we were in and she narrowed her eyes at me, turning her body to fully face me and burst out with;
"I'm going to this twat home as because of him I've had to lose time between my ma- boyfriend, son and myself! So if you'll oh so kindly remove your arm out of my way I will be going to feed my son then put him to bed before having to come back here for work!" She quickly turned, pulled the driver's door open, got in and drove off without another word or look in my direction.
After she drove off I stood there processing the new information I'd just learned about my queen's current life;
1. She has a boyfriend, but I think she was going to say mate which means this 'boyfriend' is most likely a werewolf
2. I was right - she does have a child of her own - A son and if his biological father is a werewolf then he's a pup, my queen's pup, my pup, our pup.
3. I'd possibly just pissed my queen off so now I needed to make it up to her by apologising and then finding out more about her current life.
Finding out about The life she lives...
The next few days were spent today sorting out my transfer to the local college and ensuring that Averna and I would be able to interact as much as possible without it seeming suspicious. Tomorrow's my first day and even though I rule a kingdom and command an army I still feel nervous when I know that I'll see Averna again soon and hopefully be able to become friends with her or at least get on her good side so she's no longer angry at me.
Deep breath in...Deep breath out...
