My breathing starts to become heavier and I can feel that my hands are starting to sweat. I still haven't laid eyes on Five or Phill. Phill is probably wondering why we are this quiet and worried. No words have escaped Five's lips either. I have no idea how he's reacting to the news since I haven't looked at him but for now I've got to focus on staying on my feet.

"Why are you both so shocked?" Phill eventually asks us, after allowing us another minute or so to process.

I close my eyes, needing myself to stay calm and face Phill. When I open them again after two seconds, I immediately look up at Phill who's confused eyes are upon me and no one else.

"Fired?" I say and a silence of a few seconds follows.

Phill nods quietly, waiting for me to tell or ask him more. And that I do.

"You can't just fire a handler, can you? How did you fire her? Why did you fire her?" I bombard the man with questions.

"I shall answer all of your questions in my office." He tells us, gladly leading us towards a door "People are rather scared of her and I don't think that they'd like to hear someone talk about the one who truly frightened them for such a long time."

I nod, agreeing with him. She truly was a frightening woman some times. But she could be caring too. Some times. She didn't show it much though.

We follow the man through the hallway and after walking for a couple of minutes he opens the door and let's us enter first.

"Sit down please." He says as he closes the door behind us and then walks to the chair behind the desk.

My eyes scan the office. It is completely different than the last handler her office. Her office smelled strongly like honey and yet it looked dark and unwelcoming.

This office's walls have a lime colour and give a warm and safe feeling. It remembers me of my room from when I was a toddler. After asking my mom and dad to paint my walls in lime for months, they finally accepted. They used to tell me that my room would look splendid in pastel but I always refused. Good thing I did because my lime walls were absolutely gorgeous.

"So lets' start with 'you can't just fire a handler'." He says "No, we cannot . . . Unless the handler gives us a reason to."

"Did she give you a reason?" Five asks him while I stay quiet. My eyes are upon Phill and they won't leave him. Not until I know exactly what the hell happened to the handler that I thought I had murdered.

For all these years I thoughts that she was gone. That I'd have my happy ever after. Look at me now sitting in front of the new handler and hearing that the old handler isn't dead after all.

"She most certainly did." he tells us "The apocalypse."

A frown gets placed on both of our faces. What does he mean?

"She was addicted to the apocalypse!" he says, completely convinced "She did everything for it to continue. Till this day we still don't know why. Several agents of ours looked into it and it never should've happened. We'll find out the reason. I just don't know when.."

"It never should have happened." I lean back into the chair.

It's a weird thought. If she hadn't been addicted to it then I wouldn't be together with Five. Hell, I wouldn't have a family like the one I have now. I wouldn't have an amazing godson that I adore. I wouldn't have anything of my life now. Nothing.

I would have had my parents. I wonder if they'd still loathe each other just like they did before the accident. I don't know how they did it but after Five and I brought them to the middle ages, they changed. They changed and so did their love. It's like it grew again even though I thought that that was impossible with those two.

Would I be happy with my parents or would they have maddened me then too? Would my father also be as protective with other boys as he was with Five?

I shake the thoughts out of my head. This is my life now and even if there's an immense danger again, I love it. I don't need another one.

"That was enough to fire her." Phill says "Now how did we fire her? We fired her with the truth. No one liked the news that she was that addictive to the apocalypse that hundreds of innocents have been murdered in cold blood for it. Plus the fact that her neck was easily broken by someone was a handy extra to prove that she wasn't capable of doing the job she had to do."

"Her neck broken..." I breathe, knowing very well that I did that to her. But how did she live through a broken neck? When I left her she wasn't breathing anymore.

"Yes. My old colleague, Jacob, found her laying on the ground not breathing anymore. When he found out it wasn't her heart or any of the wounds since they were mostly just bad scratches, he found out about her broken neck. Before he could do anything the building fell down. Feeling like he had to, he used his time capsule to travel back in time to the future. Not long ago actually. He brought her to the hospital wing and she healed."

My eyes narrow. I should've known. Jacob has a good heart. I remember when he always tried to make me eat. But no one succeeds in making me eat like Klaus.

"How can a broken neck heal?" Five shakes Jacob out of my head.

"We've got the best doctors here. It was a risk but one doctor had a crazy theory that he said might work. It was a miracle but it did. You haven't been there Number Five but your girlfriend has. She can agree, can't you y/n?" Phill tells Five, making me roll my eyes.

Five's eyes fall upon me again. Now I do look into them. His usual warm and loving eyes aren't there. No, worry has taken over and maybe even anger because I didn't tell him anything.

He told me that I didn't have to tell him anything. He'd wait he said. Until I'm ready to tell him everything.

I never did though. I don't want him to know about my time when I was here in the commission. It's too dark. Now that I've finally found the light again, I don't want to lose it or him.

"So you fired her while she was healing from a broken neck?" I ask him, hoping that they didn't. I truly hope that they waited until she had healed enough.

I'm pretty sure that if they told her while she's recovering in her hospital bed, she'd jump right up and attack the one telling her the news, healing or not.

"Don't worry we waited until she had fully recovered. Wonder by wonder she accepted us giving her a new identity. Poor Jacob was traumatized by seeing his boss in such a condition and he decided to quit." Phill continues to explain us everything.

"The handler accepted immediately?" I wonder out loud and Phill shakes his head in reply.

"Oh no, she most certainly did not. She loathes all of us now. But she didn't have another choice since I had been the handler for several years." he tells us.

If the old handler isn't here, she could be anywhere. With her new identity she can be absolutely anyone. If Phill isn't a fan of the apocalypse either... then it must be her that's causing it from somewhere else. The determinded woman she is, she won't let a new life stop her.

"Do you have any idea where the old handler is?" Five asks Phill. Five's face is serious. He isn't showing any emotion but I know that he wants to hear what actually happened in the time that I was here. I just know it.

"Well no one knows her new identity. ." Phill answers Five's question, making both Five and me sigh deeply "Except me."

I immediately look up and Five does too. My eyes light up and a small smile creeps onto my lips. Phill chuckles when he sees both of our reactions.

"I'll write down the address where you can find her."
