the clock passed 9, and mark was still in the emergency room with his team. this is their 3rd surgery.

" we need antifibrinolytic" mark said when he realized that the patient was experiencing blood loss.

upon hearing his command, one of the nurses handed him the said medicines.

"he's bleeding really bad" one of the doctors said with tiredness that was visible in his tone.

"trust the process" mark told him in calming voice while his hands were busy applying the medicine.

after almost another 2 hours, they finally finished the surgery. suddenly the heart rate machine beeped uncontrollably. the patient's heart rate was getting higher and low at the same time.

"defibrillator!" mark said, quite in panicking mode while he put aside the needle holder and iris scissors.

"clear!" mark said loudly, to make sure nobody was touching the patient while he gonna administers the shock.

after being given the machine, mark pressed it on the patient's chest. the machine showed a sign that the shock has been delivered to the patient, but he doesn't show any signs of life.

mark doesn't give up, so he continue with the chest compressions. after a few seconds, the heart rate came to normal making everyone in the room sighed in relief.

mark was included, he finally got to breath easily after knowing the fact that this is his last surgery and all of the 3 patients were saved now.

they shared assuring look and nod to each other, signaling they did a good job today. after cleaning what was needed, it's time to meet the family members of the patient.

the moment mark opened the door, the only person he could see was dahyun. there was also sana at her side.

a realization hit him when he noticed dahyun walked towards him with her teary eyes.

the person he saved just now was actually her boyfriend and also rosé's ex-boyfriend.

"doctor tuan, how is it?"

mark smiled and pat her shoulder. "don't worry, he's in good condition now. we will move him to regular ward soon. btw, he lost a lot of blood, so I suggest you to give him food that contains vitamin c and please don't stress him out"

dahyun nodded as she smiled at his explanation. sana that was standing beside her just admiring mark from the start. mark that just noticed her staring was feeling uncomfortable but luckily he doesn't exchange any eye contact with her.

"I need to leave now. feel free to ask me if you need anything" he immediately excused himself to the lift.

he pressed the lift button and wait patiently until it came a few seconds later. the door opened and revealed rosé with her now in casual clothes and a brown paper bag in her hand.

"oh?" rosé blurted out because she was shocked to be greeted by him. mark raised his eyebrow at her, as if asking what she meant.

rosé shook her head and stepped out of the lift. mark was too tired to voice out so he just got in the lift and pressed the 7th floor button, the cardio and immunologist level.

rosé on the other side rushed to dahyun to give her a food that she just made. not forgetting to leave one for jackson. after that she went to find mark again.

she knocked his office room door and went inside after she heard mark told her to come in.

"did you just finished the surgery?" rosé asked when she noticed mark was rubbing his tired eyes.
