the sun was finally rise, filling the messy living room with its ray. the sound that was coming from various transportation in the busy city also could be heard faintly from the 11th floor.

rosé snuggles closer to mark's side as the birds were chirping loudly on her window. not wanting to wake up yet, she hugged his waist and pulled him closer.

the alarm suddenly rang, waking up the two sleepy souls from the couch. rosé opened her eyes and was startled when she was faced with someone's broad chest.

she quickly sat on the couch and sighed in relief when she realized it was mark.

mark followed right after with half open eyes. he turned off his phone's alarm that was ringing in his pocket and look at the clock.

6:52 AM.

"good morning" mark greeted her with his raspy morning voice while stretching his body.

"morning"

"take a day off. you need to rest" mark said, more likely giving her a command as he stood up from the couch.

"how about you?" rosé doesn't mean to ask that out loud but she accidentally did.

"I need to settle something since I'm going to china tomorrow" he said while taking his car's key on the coffee table.

the jingling sound of the keys made rosé stare at him. "you're leaving now?"

"you don't want me to?" mark asked her back. they had a staring session for a minute before rosé finally answered him.

"yes, please stay" she said after doubting herself to say so. mark was taken aback by her words because he's just teasing her in the first place.

"do you... mind to tell me what happened last night?"

rosé bite her lower lip at his question, but she doesn't hesitate to nod her head as response.

"I would like to stay and hear your story, but I really need to leave now"

"stay here, and don't go anywhere. I'll be back as soon as possible" he added when rosé gave him uneasy look.

"btw, my mom got something for you" mark said after he saw the paper bag on the floor, and realized that it was the main reason why he came to her apartment last night.

he then handed her the paper bag.

"thank you" rosé thanked him as she took it.

after that, mark left her penthouse and rushed to the hospital since he decided to just take a shower over there. luckily he always have spare clothes in his car.

mark just finished his shift today and he was now on his way to pick up milo at the dog daycare center.

he got off his car and walked down the alley to his destination since he doesn't find any empty parking lot nearby the center.

mark was busy checking his phone when he accidentally bumped into someone, resulting the person's things to fall on the ground.

"I'm so sorry" he apologized while helping the person to collect their books that fell on the ground.

he froze when he noticed a photo of a girl that was slipped from one of the book, the girl photo that shown only her back figure  caught his attention and it somehow looks  familiar to him. before he could grab it, the person took it first.
