Why Me? // A Bakugo Angst Fic

Chapter Six

~Bakugo~

~Timeskip to the next day~

Bakugos eyes were shut. Not tightly, just in a relaxed manner, as though he was asleep, but Bakugo couldn't be any further from relaxed. It was all he could do to keep himself from shaking, and to keep his breathing slow and steady. Today was his first day leaving his room. He was meant to go interact with his "classmates", but honestly, he just couldn't. He kept his eyes shut and shoulders relaxed. He'd have to feign sleep for the time being. He said he was ready before, but now that they were in the elevator, he just couldn't do it. He didn't want to back out now, though. He'd just come off as even weaker than he already was, so he'd just pretend to be asleep. Bakugo heard the elevator ding, and his breath hitched, but he willed himself to relax. He felt Kirishima push him forwards, out of the elevator. Immediately, Bakugo heard loud voices that almost caused him to flinch visibly.

"Oh my god, Bakugo!"

"Is he okay?"

"Yeah I think he's just asleep."

"Damn, we still can't talk to him?"

"He can't even talk yet anyways."

"Yeah, I know but I'd just like to be able to speak to him, you know? It's been so long, I've been so worried about him!" Huh..? They were worried about him...? But shouldn't they be able to be honest since they thought Bakugo was asleep?

"Yeah, I get it, Mina. I've been worried too, but let's just let him sleep."

"Yeah, I know."

"Hate to say it but he probably still doesn't remember any of you guys except Midoriya."

"He remembers Midoriya?"

"W-well only partially. He a-apparently knows who I am but he d-doesnt have any memories of me specifically."

"Oh."

"Kiri, doesn't he remember you at all?"

"No, not really. He seems somewhat comfortable with me, but I dunno."

"Damn. So I guess he won't remember any of the bakusquad then?"

"Sorry, Kaminari. He really doesn't remember anyone but Midoriya."

"Do you think he'll remember All Might?" Huh? All.... Might..? That's... huh? All Might? All Might. All Might. All Might. All Might. All Might? But... No no no no! Bakugo's thoughts were still escaping him. All Might, All Might, All Might, All Might, All Might! Bakugo started to involuntarily shudder.

"H-hey! Is he okay? He's shaking all of a sudden!" Bakugo's eyes clenched shut much tighter. His thoughts and memories were all on the tip of his tongue. It was driving him absolutely mad. His head started to pound agonizingly. Why couldn't he remember?

"Bakugo!"

"Kirishima, wake him up!" Bakugo's thoughts started to drown out people's words. Their yelling faded into white noise. All he could hear was the pounding of his head as he struggled with his own thoughts. Was he going insane? What was happening? He couldn't take this. It was too much. He can't do it. He cant. He can't. He cant. He cant. He cant. It hurts.

"-akugo! Bakugo!" Bakugo heard the yelling now. It was right in front of him. He couldn't ignore it. Still, he couldn't take it. He didn't want to open his eyes. He didn't want to see all those people he didn't know. Bakugo squeezed his eyes tighter and clapped his hands onto his ears. Bakugo wanted to scream at them. To tell them to be quiet. But when he opened his mouth, all that came out was a strangled choking sound. The noise around him stopped.
