DING DING DING!!!
The sound of my annoying ass alarm on my phone went off, waking not only me, but Carmelo started moving around as if he was about to wake up.
As I wiped the morning crust out my eyes, I noticed Carmelos legs all over my left leg and his arm spread across my stomach.
He was definitely a wild sleeper.
Bryson seemed to be out of bed but the aroma of eggs, bacon and pancakes filled the whole apartment.
I gently move Carmelos body off of me and slowly get out of bed, trying not to wake him up.
I hop in the shower, brush my teeth and get dressed for the day.
Once I was finished getting dressed, I hear the bed ruffling meaning Carmelo is waking up. As I went out my closet and back into the room, Carmelo was sitting up, stretching out to yawn. Wearing the pajamas that we brought him yesterday.
"Morning."I smiled, walking over to him.
He waved and did another yawn. He still hasn't opened up to me yet.
"Are you hungry?"
He nodded his head and I picked him up to carry him into the kitchen.
"Morning baby." I said to Bryson, putting Carmelo down on the couch and giving Bry a peck.
"Mornin'. Y'all hungry?"
"Starving." I responded, going over to the stove to make me and Carmelo a plate.
Today was my day off from the preschool job, and I had school in about a hour.
"Carmelo, foods on the table." I announce.
Carmelos little footsteps head towards the kitchen table where me and Bryson are sitting, and he takes a seat.
"I can drop Carmelo off at school so you won't be late for school." Bryson said, stealing a piece of bacon off my plate.
"Nigga you already ate!" I slap his hand away from grabbing my bacon, but he ate it anyways.
He chuckled while chewing and Carmelo did a little chuckle as well, causing me and Bryson to look at eachother in shock.
I've never heard him show any signs of happiness, that little chuckle might seem small but that's a big deal to us.
The three of us just started bursting out in laughter.
Hours later
School was easy today, I only had only one class and it was two hours. As I got home Bryson and Carmelo were here in the living room watching the basketball game while eating a bowl of icecream.
"What's going on in here?" I asked confusedly. "Carmelos supposed to be in school." I said, sitting down my keys and joining them on the living room couch.
"We decided to go out for ice cream and chill in the crib. One day home from school won't hurt." Bryson shrugged.
I smiled a bit. He's right, one day home from school won't hurt. Carmelo deserves a break because of all the shit he's been through.
