~At Night in the Great Hall, (Y/N)'s POV~
I could hear the music from the party clearly as Anna and I waited to be announced. Once the music stopped, I heard Kai announce Elsa's arrival.
"Queen Elsa of Arendelle," he spoke, gesturing towards the side from which Elsa emerged. She walked with grace and elegance that I'm sure she picked up from our parents. The people bowed at the sight of their queen. When she stopped in the middle of the small stage, Kai proceeded to announce Anna and me.
"Princess Anna of Arendelle," he said. Unlike Elsa, Anna walked into view quite awkwardly, sending a small wave to the crowd. Kai clears his throat and leads Anna to a spot right next to Elsa.
"Princess (Y/N) of Arendelle," I keep my head high as I walk into view, smiling at the audience as I stop next to Anna. With all three of us now at the front, the crowd rises and begins to clap. As the applause died down, Anna cleared her throat while shuffling nervously.
Before she could speak, Elsa began the conversation, much to my surprise. "Hi," she says with a small smile, glancing between Anna and me.
Okay Anna, I know we are both pretty surprised right now but don't mess this up-
"Hi us? Oh, um...hi," she said awkwardly, looking at the ground. I tap her hand discreetly, attempting to calm her nerves. She sends me a grateful smile.
"You both look beautiful," Elsa continues, not allowing the conversation to end so quickly. "Thank you. You look beautifully. I mean, not fuller! You don't look fuller, just more beautiful-" Anna rambles, my eyes widening as I cut her off quickly. "What Anna means to say is, thank you, Elsa. You look beautiful too," I compliment.
Elsa chuckles. "Thank you." She then turns towards the front, looking over the guests at the party. "So..." she starts, "This is what a party looks like." Anna laughs saying, "It's warmer than I thought." I look around while saying, "And what is that amazing smell?"
We all close our eyes and inhale the scent. Turning to each other, we open our eyes and say, "Chocolate!" in unison. We chuckle in amusement. As our laughter died down, Anna opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted.
"Your majesty," Kai said, gesturing towards an older gentleman in refined clothing, "The Duke of Weaseltown."
"Weselton!" he corrects, sending Kai a look. He turns back to Elsa. "The Duke of Weselton, Your Majesty." He walks closer to Elsa. "As your closest partner in trade, it seems only fitting that I offer you your first dance as queen." With that offer, he quickly does a few dance moves, surprising me so much that I step back a bit. He ended in a deep bow, leaving his hair- which is now obviously seen for a toupee- to fall forwards to the point it almost fell off his head.
We snicker, trying to hide our smiles. Elsa clears her throat, "Thank you, only I don't dance," these words cause a look to cross the Duke's face, one that tips us off that he was slightly offended.
"But my sister does," Elsa finishes, gesturing towards Anna. Anna chuckles, before realizing what this would mean for her. "What?" she asks, before being dragged off to dance with the Duke. "Good luck," I whisper between soft laughter, Elsa also saying "Sorry," before Anna disappeared into the crowd.
Now, it was just me and Elsa. I gather my courage and ask her, "So, are you enjoying yourself?" Elsa looks down at me, nodding. "I am actually. I didn't expect it to be this peaceful."
I nodded, getting lost in thought. I decided to ask her about what I saw earlier. "Elsa are you alright? Earlier, at the coronation, your hands were shaking. Was it just nerves or-?"
