The chatter from inside the throne room was nonexistent to those standing on the outside, but once the large doors opened it was all you could hear. Counsellors shouting across the table at one another and fingers being pointed left to right. However their conversations weren't the ones catching your attention, it was the soon-to-be king; Kim Seokjin. There, sat in the middle of all the chaos, his majesty in silence. His fist was balled up as if he was angry but his eyes projected something else; emptiness and sadness. This only confused you even more; why were you here?

Moving your eyes from his majesty, you finally noticed the other members sitting at the round table. The most advanced healer of Saorsa; Jung Hoseok, the war tactician; Kim Namjoon, Hand of the King; his younger brother Kim Taehyung and lastly Leila the guardian of the Halcyon forest. This causes your anger to sizzle into curiosity and unease. The last time you had seen Arcane in the same room as the ruler and officials of Everett was before the Great War, over 30 years ago.

It was a table filled with the most powerful in Everett and surrounded by some of the most advanced and powerful Arcane in the world.

Knocking you out of your frozen state, Jungkook nudged you forward and gestured towards one of the four empty seats at the oak wood table, "sit." Too stunned to speak - for once - you animatedly did as you were told. However, your appearance didn't seem to disrupt the table as the counsellors continued their loud argument.

"Your majesty, how can you be so calm, sitting in the same room as all of these barbarians?"

"I cannot believe you would allow them to even step foot in the castle grounds, let alone the throne room."

"This will cause an uproar amongst the kingdom."

"SILENCE!" Slamming his fist onto the table, you hear the loud arguing cease. You look up and see his majesty pan his eyes across the room in pure frustration. "Do you all have no conscience? Saying these disgusting statements about our guests at the round table? Statements which are all based on assumptions?" Eyes widening in shock, the counsellor's exchange looks of shame amongst themselves.

A low sigh escapes Seokin before he takes a look at Jungkook who had taken his stance at the door. He gestures for him to take the two empty seats at the table.

"Young prince- apologies - your majesty." Standing up, one of the counsellors bows to Seokjin. "I find it ridiculous that you would dishonour your father and invite the very kind that murdered him to sit with us in such a dire circumstance." He sends a dirty look towards Jungkook, "It is outrageous that your bastard brother is even allowed a seat at the round table."

You hear Wolf growl in response and Jungkook sneers. "My brother deserves a seat as much as everyone else here, although I can't say much about you, master of Coin. Whilst you are here bathing in riches, my brother is out there protecting our kingdom from harm."

The table falls into silence again making your eyes shift awkwardly between all the figures seated at the table. The tension in the room was unbearable, but that was a given when you bring Arcane against their will to sit at the table with a bunch of royal assholes. It was taking every fibre in you to not start a ruckus, but you knew you couldn't yet. You needed to know why you had been brought here. It was no coincidence that the majority of the Arcane here were bonded to some of the strongest familiars found in the spirit realm. You were gathered here for a purpose.
