Nothing Can Stop Love

Chapter 1

Tom

I smile at my phone while eating breakfast. How can Jake be so hot. I swipe through Jake's Instagram, that I don't hear mom shouting.

"ANOTHER?" She shouts from the other side of the table. I look up

"What?!" I look around and see  everyone staring at me.

"Daydreaming Tom?" Harry chuckles. "Mom asked if you want another slice of bread." He points at mom who's standing furious with a slice of bread in her hand.

"Oh, yes please." I blush.

"What were you even looking at?" He reaches at my phone, but I snatch it out his hands.

"Sorry, just personal" Great start for the morning. I roll my eyes.

"So, what are the plans for today" Mom looks around with bread in her hand. "Well?"

Sam fills his glass with beer. "Me and Harry are going to the pool"

Mom looks at me. "Tom?"

I sigh. I rly don't wanna talk now. "Nothing" I say. What else was I supposed to say. I can't say that I'm gonna spend my whole day daydreaming over Jake.

Mom raises an eyebrow. "Nothing?"

Yes, nothing mom. So hard to understand? "Yes, nothing."

"Guys! Come fast! Look at the news" We rush to Paddy and look at the tv.

"We're here at the community pool were a gay couple has been arrested. The pool manager caught them kissing in the toilets." She turns around to the pool manager. "I'm here with the pool manager. Tell me, how did you find the 2 girls?"

She gives him the microphone. He's looking awkwardly at the camera. Probably his first time on tv. "Well, I was on my way to the cashier who said  something was broken, when I heard something in the women toilet. I opened the door and saw 2 women kissing."

The interviewer nods. "And that's when you called the police?"

He nods. The interviewer turns to the camera. "Maria and Josephine are gonna be arrested today." Paddy closes the tv with a disgusted face.

"They deserve it" I look at Paddy who imitates barfing and makes the others laugh.

"Yea, they're so disgusting. I mean, who falls in love with the same gender?" Harry says.

Guess I'm not gonna say I'm gay. I look at the floor.

"Hey Man, why are you so quiet?" Sam looks at me.
"They were caught! Be happy!"

How can I be happy and celebrate when that's probably gonna happen to me too. Unless if Jake wants too. I look at my watch. "Gotta go. I'm going over to Jake's place. Byee!" I take my keys and leave the house in tears. Hate it! When I'm almost at Jake's, I see Maggie outside crying. I walk over to her. "What's wrong?"

She look up to me. "Oh, hi Tom" She wipes away her tears "It's nothing dear. Jake's waiting for you inside." She opens the door for me and enter.

Jake is waiting for me. He wants to hug me, but then sees my red puffy eyes. "Tom....you okay?" I burst out crying.

"I have to confess something!"

He looks at me with such beautiful eyes. "Go ahead." I hesitate. What if he's gonna call the police too. What if he's gonna hate me too.

"I.....I'm gay" So, I said it. I sit down, unable to look at him. Probably hating me or something.

He walks up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. "I know Tom, I know." Wait, how does he know?

I look up with confusion and meet his eyes. "H- how do you know?"

He laughs "Tom, it's easy to tell. Your eyes shimmer." Damn it. I'm betraying myself.

"Tom, you're not alone." I'm more confused and want to say something, but he continues. "Cuz I'm gay too" Maggie gasps. When was she in the doorway?

Jake looks frightened. "Maggie!" She runs away, Jake following her. When he finally got to her she starts slapping him.

"MY OWN BROTHER GAY? HOW DARE YOU!" She starts crying. "I rly don't want to put you in jail!"

I follow Jake. He's looking with compassion at Maggie.

"And you don't have to! C'mon Mag, don't turn me in."

She sighs. I have to tell you something....I'm gay too." We all look shocked. Maggie continues. "You know that girl from Ballet? The one with blonde hair who always helps me with the six steps? Her name is Glory. We're a couple, in secret. Some of the ballet girls suspect something. And the girls who were arrested today were my friends from ballet." She's sad, I feel that. She sighs. "Why can't people accept that some people love the same gender?"

I sigh too. Life is hard. It's quiet for a sec. "Well, I'll leave you two alone. I'm leaving to ballet" She packs her bag and leaves. I never knew Maggie did ballet.

Jake waves her out and turns around to me. "Tom, wanna eat out?"

I hesitate. "Together?"

He laughs. "Yes, like friends." Yeah, I chuckle. Like friends. I look away so he won't see my face. Oh, if he knew how much I'm falling for him. We take our jackets and leave.
