Chapter 8

-You think this will work?-

-Guess we'll just have to wait and see.-

-Hey Amity... How are you feeling?-

The green-haired witch started to slowly open her eyes and get used to the light that shined through the living room. As she opened her eyes she could spot Luz, looking at her with a smile that made her heart flutter every time.

-L...Luz?- she got up quickly blushing at the realization that she had slept on the human's lap all along. But she regretted doing that because she felt her body ache. Grunting, she stood up carefully this time and gave the Latina a reassuring smile.

-How are you feeling?- Luz asked as she grabbed the Blight's hand and pulled her closer, -I... great. Why do you ask?- the brown-haired girl placed Amity on her lap and kissed her cheek.

-Oh it's... it's really nothing, I was just asking.- stated Luz while hugging Amity. She looked into her bright golden eyes, and she sighed; Amity had been sleeping for the past hour, everyone else was in the kitchen waiting for the green-haired witch to wake up, Luz insisted to have some privacy, so they let her be and went into another room.

-Why am I here..?- Asked Amity rubbing her head as she stood up, Luz stood up as well, grabbing her crush's hand. -I invited you to hang at the Owl House. But you might have overworked yourself 'cause you plummeted on the couch almost instantly. You looked cute and relaxed while you were asleep, so I didn't want to wake you up. Now come on, I invited Gus and your siblings to come and be here for a while. Figured out you'd come to say hi.-

Luz guided Amity into the kitchen, but the girl backed off when she saw who else was in there.

-Luz...- she tensed up, -What is she doing here?- her eyes suddenly fell on Willow, who appeared to be having a serious conversation with Gus.

The brown-haired girl looked towards Amity, and saw that the girl was ready to draw a spell, she quickly placed a hand on the Blight's wrist in a caring way. -Hey, I know what she did, but don't hurt her. At least... not physically.- with that, Amity's grip softened as she let out a sigh and looked in another direction trying to forget a little bit about Willow.

She and Luz went with the Clawthorne sisters who were also engaging in a conversation, but when they noticed the girls' presence, they quickly stopped talking.

-I still don't know what happened in the girl's head for her to do something like a deal with a shadow demon. She must have gone through a lot to do that kind of sh-... Oh hey, kid! I see that your girlfriend is already awake.-

The last thing Eda mentioned made both of the girls' faces turn into a dark shade of red, -Eda!- Luz shouted covering her face as Amity let out a shriek. Eda shrugged, -You didn't deny it. Anyways, Lily and I need to chat about... some stuff. Why don't you and green head go out or something? I'm sure it will help you get better.-

Luz nodded silently taking Amity towards the door, -Luz! One more thing.- the Latina went with the Owl Lady as she whispered, -Did it work?-

-I honestly don't know. But Amity seems fine.-

The witch nodded as she now faced her sister. Luz was going but she was again interrupted by Willow and Gus, -How do you know that it worked?- asked Willow with concern on her tone. -Maybe it's time to ask Amity directly. She seems normal so maybe it worked.- answered the brown-haired girl.

-Luz, you can't do that. You're risking the chance that the shadow demon is still in there. What if something happens?-

-And you have a better plan?- Luz asked, but she received no response from her friends. -Well, no one has something better, so I'm risking it. For Amity. I think she's going through a lot, though, I'm not exactly sure. She did mention something about something happening all over again.-  Willow's eyes widened at the last thing Luz mentioned, -Shit... then this is worse than I thought.-
