"Focus on the pain my sweet girl. It will help you grow stronger."
A man in a white lab coat whispered.
"Father it hurts."
A girl whispered.
"Remember who you are."
He reminded her.
"I'm Harper Manchester."
—-Now—-
"Now Harper, I want you to show me what you can do with these weapons, okay?"
The man asked.
"Yes Father."
She replied like a robot. Harper grabbed a hand gun and loaded it in a swift motion. She aimed to a random target and emptied the bullet case. They all landed in the exact same spot. She grabbed a recurve bow, and white arrows and aimed at the moving targets, all landing in the center of the head. The girl grabbed some hand knifes and threw them at a wall. She turned around.
"Very good my dear. I think you should be ready. Take her to the interrogation room."
Two guards led her to a room, set up like a mini café. The girl sat down and her father sat across from her.
"Now tell me, what are the identities of the Danger Force members?"
The girl shook her head.
"Can't say."
She whispered. The man nodded her head and they sent a shock through the girls veins.
"Okay! S-Shoutout is a g-girl n-named M-Mika T-Taylor. AWOL, h-her b-brother is M-Miles Taylor."
The girl let slip.
"Very good Harper. What about those other pesky two?"
The girl cried out before she continued.
"B-Brainstorm. He's t-the m-mayors son. Bose Willard."
The girl admitted. The man shook his head.
"And the one in red."
"Kill me. I love her to much. I won't tell you!"
Her cried earned her electricity flowing through her veins, filling every inch of her body. She started to scream, cry, and kick before giving in.
"Okay! V-Volt. The love of my life. H-Her name is L-Lula E-Elena Chapa Da S-Silva."
The man nodded as the electricity turned off. The girl cried.
"Who is Captain Man?"
He asked.
"Captain man... my uncle. My adoptive father... his name is Raymond. R-Raymond Manchester."
The man nodded.
"You have made me very happy Harper. Very happy my love.

The kids sat at their desks. Harpers has been removed to stop Chapa from crying, but Chapa still used Harpers chair. Chapa cried over Harper every day. It made it more and more frustrating for Ray to keep the kids attention because they would cry along with her too. It was one of those days where Chapa sniffles during class. Ray had enough and stood up.
"Chapa. Let's talk outside."
Ray stated calmly, with his hand gesturing to the door.
"Ok."
Chapa muttered. The two stepped outside before Chapa started crying. Ray looked down at the girl and looked at her the same way he looked at his own daughter.
"Chapa sit down next to me."
Ray said pulling her down next to him on the sidewalk. Ray sling his arm around Chapas shoulders and held her close, releasing some of his own tears.
"Chapa, I know that you are upset that Harpers gone, but you need to stop crying. It's been long enough where you just gotta let it go."
"I CANT LET IT GO!"
Chapa sobbed.
"Chapa. Harper and I were like peanut butter and tuna fish. We didn't really get along well until recently. I had to learn to understand her. It took me awhile to understand her when she was little. Did you know she only started talking at one and a half?"
Chapa tilted her head.
"She did?"
Ray nodded.
"She couldn't walk until she turned one, started talking in sentences at two, and honestly, Harper wasn't the smartest cookie. It was like something clicked when her dad died. Like the light turned on upstairs. Harpers dyslexia also caused her other health issues. You remember how she had lung cancer? Didn't go away until she turned 3."
Ray said quietly.
"All I'm saying is that you need to relax."
Ray finished, holding the broken girl in his arms.
"Don't tell me to relax."
Chapa laughed. The two shared a laugh before going back inside, unbeknownst that the most sinister plan would happen soon.
—————
There they stood, over Harpers death spot. A girl stared at the wall excited.
"Freeze."
Ray yelled.
"Well. Well. Well. Look what we have here. Swellviews most adorable crime fighters."
The girl said turning around.
"Harper?!"
They gasped.
"Ha! Time to end you."
:::
The whole team was currently tied up.
"Well that was quick."
Ray commented.
"But I don't understand. How are you alive?"
Mika asked.
"Yeah. You were pretty dead..."
Miles added. Harper smirked, squatting in front of Chapa. Chapa let out a silent whimper. Harper giggled.
"Awe. Do you want something from me?"
Chapa lunged forward, but Harper took a step back.
"I. Want. Lips."
Chapa demanded. Harper laughed as she loaded a blaster.
"Maybe I'll just give you a peck... goodbye."
Harper snickered, loading her blaster, pointing it to Chapas head.
"Harper. Remember who you are."
Ray said.
"I'm Harper Marie Manchester. I grew up in Dystopia. My Dad was killed in a war in Afghanistan, while I was left to survive with my brothers while my Mother was away. I-I was revived from my bloody death by Dr. Paterson. I-I w-was in love w-with Lula E-Elena Chapa Da Silva. I-I l-loved her. I w-was adopted by Raymond Manchester."
Harper broke down crying, screaming.
"Chapa!"
Harper screamed. Harper raced to Chapa and untied her, before holding her tightly while crying. Chapa buried her face in Harpers uniform.
"I got you baby. I'm not gonna let you go."
Harper whispered. Chapa ran her fingers over Harpers face.
"We need to delete Paterson's data. He knows all about you guys."
——
The team arrived at the lab.
"There. We need to get to that computer."
Mika said out loud.
"Not so fast Danger Force."
