"What are you doing here, mortal?" Jesse asked as I walked up to my dead parents' grave.

"Mortal?" I scoffed. "What are you, a god?" I sassed.

"I am immortal, I can tell you that." Jesse smirked.

"Just leave me alone, Jesse. All I want to do is put this flower on this grave and leave so Benny won't get worried." I held up the white rose.

"Well, guess what, (Y/n)?" Jesse crossed his arms.

"What, Mr. Immortal?" I mocked.

He suddenly showed me his fangs, and I froze. He sunk his teeth into my neck, making me scream. He covered my mouth as he drained the blood from me, making me feel faint.

Grandma found me passed out a few hours later, still in the graveyard. She never told Benny about me being bitten. It's been five years since I was bitten. Each month, Grandma made me a blood substitute, so I didn't have to drink normal human blood. I was still a fledgling to this day.

Thunder cracked as the moon glowed. Jakeward and Rochel were sitting in a car in the middle of the woods. It was raining badly.

"I love you," Rochel breathed.

"I'm not human," Jakeward said harshly.

"I don't care. Bite me, I'm begging you," Rochel said.

Jakeward smiled, showing his fangs. Thunder cracked as Rochel screamed.

Jane jumped next to me as Rochel screamed.

"Hey, it's okay." I smiled warmly. "It's only a movie."

"Look at all this!" Ethan said with his hands full of candy.

He and Benny set the pounds of candy down on the table. "What'd you do, rob an ice cream truck or something?"

"Tomorrow, we officially join the high school brotherhood," Benny started.

"And sisterhood!" I called.

"We are men," Benny continued, "and women," Benny motioned to me. "We must make the moment."

"Let's make it the Sunday to end all Sundays," Ethan said determinedly.

"Want anything, sis?" Benny asked.

"No thanks, Ben." I looked at the screen.

"You barely eat anything. You've even gone days without eating," Benny groaned. "Just one thing?" Benny begged me.

I thought about it for a moment. "I won't mind a couple mini marshmallows," I shrugged.

Benny grinned. "That's my sister."

"Remember grade five when you put a hundred and seventy-six of these in your mouth?" Ethan held up the bag.

"Yeah, right! It was one eighty-six!" Benny scoffed.

"No way!" Ethan exclaimed. "I did one seventy-two, you did one seventy-six!"

"You barely hit one fifty." Benny rolled his eyes.

The boys argued over treats when I heard a thump.

"Hey, (Y/n)? Do you hear that?" Jane asked me quietly.

"Yeah, I did." I nodded. "Do you want to go check it? Scream and I'll come rescue you, okay?"

Jane nodded with a smile.
