Cali and I eventually started talking again. Talking about our friends from New York. Talking about celebrities, movies, TV. But the topic of Alicia, and the others never came up again.
I wondered..What did they do to Cali? What will they do to me?
"Buckle your seatbelts, we will be landing shortly." said the pilot.
I buckled up, and then started to gather my stuff into my oversized, zebra bag. Cali did the same, and then she said, " Don't worry, the school is great! Just stay with the right people." She winked, and smiled.
I smiled back, and winked, too. Cali was a lot like me. And I'm sure her friends will like me. She wouldn't want me to hangout with Alicia.
We got of the plane, and waited for our luggage to come. I grabbed my suitcases, and Cali and I headed towards the train.
"Its a 20 minute ride to Hollywood High, so I wouldn't get too comfy, " Cali cautioned. We both sat down. I glanced down at my BlackBerry. It was 12:00. We'd probably get to school at like 12:30.
"Oh!" I exclaim, remembering my camera. I take it out, and snap a picture of the plane, then one of the entrance to the train. Cali and I giggle of how random I am. I snap a picture of Cali, and then another of both of us, laughing, being friends.
"Why so many pictures?" Cali asked.
"I'm documenting this year!" I answer happily. "I want to show everyone at home how much I've grown, and who I've met. I looked through my old pictures. There were some from the Freshman Dance, others from sleepovers, over the summer with Brittany, Sam, and Ali. Tears crawled down my cheeks.
Suddenly, Cali hugged me. "Its ok, " she said. " I miss my friends too! You have me now!And my two other friends are excited to meet you! We're not going to ditch you or leave you in the dust, don't worry."
I hug her back, and we're both laughing after that.
"We're so dramatic!" I laugh.
"We're girls!" Cali replies, cackling. Then we take our seats on the train.
"So who are these other 2 girls?" I inquire more about my soon-to-be friends.
"Hannah, and Iris. One lives in New Jersey, and one in Pennsylvania. We're like the Anti-Plastics from Mean Girls 2. We're popular, but not like b*tchy like Alicia, and the rest of the Barbies."
"That's how me and my friends were in New York, " I smile and for once I don't cry when I think of Sam, Ali, and Brittany.
I look out the window, and see a series of tall buildings with thousands of gorgeously decorated windows.
"Hollywood High!" the conductor announces.
"Thats us" Cali says. We get off of the train and drag out luggage to Building B, otherwise known as The Beta House. It seems like I packed all bricks, and they were weighing me down now. I look once again at my BlackBerry, and see that its 12:25. We reach the room and I am finally here.
