(n.) the delusion of things being more beautiful than they are.

Emma

A bunch of fresh grapes looks delicately delicious displayed in front of me. I grabbed the bowl full of fruits and started to observe which fruit I should eat first. I'm an enthusiast of fruits. Fruit never disappoints.

A raspy voice was heard communicating with Rae having a small discussion. I wasn't paying attention to what they were saying. She started to open the curtain gently.

It was a boy. A boy that looked very familiar. He's wearing a black hoodie with ripped jeans which makes him look different yet the same. It's Samuel?!

"Oh- aren't you the girl this morning?" he said in a quite curious tone.

I have a sudden gag-reflect hearing that sentence. The grape that I chewed a couple of times flew out of my mouth. I immediately grabbed the water beside me and started chugging it in while facing back at him.

No, it can't be...

"Hey, hey are you okay now? I'll bring you more water okay? Wait here a little bit." Emma grabbed the cup and started to refill it from the dispenser.

I was left speechless not knowing what to do next. He sat down on one of the available seats. From his physical appearance, I was a hundred person sure that it was him. How? From the moment Rae said his name, I have a feeling it's him, and once more, his voice has its characteristic I could tell from his raspy voice. I don't want him to be here and most importantly I don't want him to know me. Why is he here?

It felt like this whole thing is just my dream or maybe it is my stupid dream? I pinched my right hand and it hurts. I make a silent "ouch"

"Samuel don't just sit there quietly, be responsible for what you have done. Say sorry to her immediately! Maybe you got the wrong person, she's just a different girl" Rae shouted.

"Well, if you say so."

He didn't do anything wrong though. It was my clumsy self that doesn't have to do anything with him. I would be in big trouble if he started to get close to me. I could see from the corner of my eyes, he started to approach me. Oh no, no, no...

"Sorry." He lends out his hand looks so forced because of Rae. That's the only word that came out of his mouth.

I was too scared to look directly in his eyes because I know if I did, things could happen to me. Slowly but steady, I look at his eyes. I accepted his hand and I know I need to say something about this. If I didn't speak up, I know it'll lead to a worse misunderstanding.

"It's totally fine, about the girl this morning, you're not wrong about it though." I look down at his hands.

"Even if you didn't validate that it's you, I would still believe that you are that girl. I'm not surprised. " He told me with a very annoying expression.

"Control the way you talk Samuel, she might feel uncomfortably close to you." She said while brought me the cup of water.

I take the cup and sip a bit of it before putting it back to the table.

The doctor says that I could already get odd from the hospital. When I started to get off from the bed, I could see him started to drink the water cup that was used by me before.

"You could just tell her to refill it half of the cup, this would be a lot of waste-"Rae closed his mouth so he started mumbling. Her mouth mumbled "please forget what he said"
