Chapter 1: The Storm

It was a late, stormy night in Hawkins, rain all over everyones windows, trees falling down. The Hawkins school's had closed down because of the weather and the most people had to stay inside.
"Lucas... do you copy?" A tall curly haired boy named Mike said on a walkie talkie.
"Yes I copy, What is it?" The other boy replied, His name was Lucas.
"I'm bored do you wanna go to the arcade?" Mike asked.
"Are you kidding? Theres a storm outside and I doubt our parents want us to be going out this late anyway!" Lucas said.
"We have nearly died several times, I think we will be alright!" Mike replied.
"Ugggh! Fine, Are we gonna invite Dustin?" Lucas asked.
"Yeah sure... Dustin, Do you copy?" Mike said.
"Yes, I copy and I've been listening the whole time, Are you sure you want to go out there?" He questioned.
"Dustin we will be fine just meet at the arcade as fast as possible!" Lucas said.
"Alright I'll be there!" He replied.

Mike grabbed his coat and rushed downstairs, He was about to open the door until someone startled him.
"And where do you think you're going?" A beautiful brown haired girl asked him.
"Nancy! You scared me, I'm going to the arcade with Dustin and Lucas." Mike replied.
"I don't think so! Have you seen the storm?" She said quietly.
"Yes I have, but we will be fine we have nearly died several times!" He said.
"And I don't want to risk your death again! Mike you're staying here or I'll tell Mom!" Nancy yelled, trying to keep the noise down so she wouln't wake her parents and younger sister Holly.
"Nancy, I know you worry about me but honestly I'll be fine!" He replied.
"Okay... But be home in an hour." She advised.
"Okay I promise!" Mike said.

Lucas couldn't sneak out of the front door because his parents were watching the TV and they would hear him, So he decided to sneak out of his window, Just as he built up the courage to jump he heard the door open.
"What the hell are you doing buttface?" His sassy little sister said.
"Erica!" He said nearly falling.
"Are you trying to sneak out?" She asked.
"Yes... and I'll let you come if you don't tell Mom and Dad!" He said bribing her.
"Okay... but you know theres a back door right?" She questioned.
"I knew that!" He said.
They both quietly went downstairs and went out the back door and hopped on there bikes.

Dustin went into his living room where he saw his Mom asleep holding her precious cat, So he just left a note that said he will be back soon and rushed out the door.

The boys and Erica all arrived and went inside but got a surprise to see Max, Lucas's beautiful red headed girlfriend on one of the machines.
"Oh shit! We forgot to invite Max, If she sees us she will be crazy mad!" Lucas said concerned.
"What are you guys doing here? Theres a huge storm outside!" Steve said, He worked at the Arcade with another girl named Robin but she wasn't in because of the storm.
"We were bored, But when did Max get here?" Mike asked.
"About 2 minutes ago!" Steve replied.
"Okay let's just sneak around to the other side!" Lucas said.
"You know I can see you?" Max said angrily.
"Shhhh!" Lucas whispered.
"And I can hear you!" Max said rolling her eyes and going back on the machine.
"Okay Max we are really sorry!" Dustin said.
"It feels like all you do is leave me out! I hear you on those walkie talkie things talking and meeting up, but I'm never there!" Max said with a tear in her eye.
"Well sorry! You could've said!" Mike said.
"No Mike! I shouldn't have to do that!" She said grabbing her coat and heading for the door.
"Don't leave ou just got here!" Lucas said.
"Lucas I'm your girlfriend! The only time you care is when I ask you to!... I'm leaving" She screamed in an annoyed voice.

Max went on her bike but she couldn't go very fast because of the wind, When she finally got some speed she saw a shadow figure in the road, She stopped just as she was about to hit it, She saw a young girl with long blonde hair with blood all over her, She looked scared and had bruises and she was in a hospital gown.
"Are... are you okay?" Max stuttered getting off her bike, The little girl shaked her head.
"What happened to you!" She asked in a concerned voice.
"The bad men." The young girl said quietly.
Max suddenly remembered when the boys told her about Eleven for the first time. They said there were bad men and she was in a hospital gown.
She thought it was either a prank or she was another one of Dr. Brenners science projects. Max didn't know what to do so se just grabbed the girls arm and ran back to the arcade. The girl started screaming and trying to get her to let go.
"I'm sorry! I won't hurt you!" Max said, The girl calmed down and asked Max to stop running.
"Okay, We can walk!" Max said.
She suddenly remembered she had the walkie talkie in her pocket.
"CODE RED!" She screamed.
"Oh so you're talking to us now?" Lucas replied.
"LUCAS IT'S NO JOKE! COME TO THE PATH IN THE WOODS NEAR THE ARCADE!" Max yelled.
"This better not be a prank!" Mike said.
"IT'S NOT JUST COME!" Max said getting more worried by the minute.
"Okay were on our way!" Dustin said.
"BRING STEVE!" She said.
"Okay?" Mike said in confusion.
The girl just stared at Max, She looked scared but Max was holding her hand telling her she was going to be okay.
"Whats your name?" Max asked trying to make convosation, The girls face stayed blank, But Max saw the boys and Erica running to her.
"Is everything okay?" Mike asked.
"I think this little girl is from the lab!" Max whispered.

Mike was missing his girlfriend Eleven and he suddenly got flashbacks from when he first met El and memories with her. He didn't realise but he was crying.

"Mike? You good?" Lucas asked.
"What? Oh yeah... I'm fine..." He replied.
He carefully grabbed the girls arm and then he saw... the number 012.

"She's from the lab..." Dustin whispered under his breath.
"What's your name? I need you to tell me!" Mike said.
The girl was terrified but slowly got out the words,
"Kate..."
"Okay great we know her name!" Max said.

Everyone decided to head back to Steves car and he dropped them off at there houses, Max, Mike, Lucas and Dustin all went to Mikes basement and Erica and Steve went home. Kate hadn't let go of Max's hand the whole time.

"Okay Kate we are going to ask a few questions..." Lucas said, Kate nodded her head.
"How old are you?" Mike asked, Kate held up 10 fingers.
"Okay so you're Kate and you're 10 years old, We have a bigger question now..." Max nervously said.
"What is it?" Kate asked quietly.
"Do y-" But Dustin couldn't finish his sentance because he heard a noise, They turned there heads to look at what it was, And when they looked back Kate was gone.
"Where did she go?" Mike askedin confusion.
"I don't know?..."Dustin replied...
