Alecto had finished all her homework and headed off to the Potions classroom so she could serve the detention Snape gave her that morning.

She knocked lightly on the door and entered, Snape looked up from his desk and stood up.

"You're early, Miss Black."

"I know, now we can start my Legilimens lessons earlier and I might get a few minutes extra sleep tonight."

She saw a slight smirk tug on his lips, "Very well then. Let's get this over with." He muttered and got up, he pulled a chair out from another desk and placed it in front of the classroom.

"Sit down."

Alecto took the seat and fiddled nervously with her fingers.

"Relax, Black."

Severus walked closer to her and around her, he could smell the sweet vanilla smell coming from her, a scent he missed dearly, he missed her extremely.

"I will penetrate your mind, as you remember from your fourth year, you will attempt to push me out, and while I go through your mind I will look for any lost memories that might be helpful to us."

Alecto nodded and gasped as he spoke up and entered her mind—

"Legilimens!"

He went over her only childhood memories she could remember over and over again, she was only able to push him out once or twice.

He also saw the recent fight Alecto had with Sirius and what Dumbledore told her about him—

He pulled out of her mind–

"He told you about me?"

Alecto panted lightly and nodded, "About the Death Eater thing, yeah."

She sat up straight and saw Severus glance at the floor and then he clutched his left arm lightly.

"Alecto, I didn't tell you because—"

"You didn't want to scare me off, I know, don't worry."
She gave him a slight smile.

He was slightly shocked to know she wouldn't be disgusted or angry with him, he knew Lily would've been furious, but Alecto didn't even look angry, perhaps it was because she knew she also spent a part of her life with death eaters.

"Let's carry on. . ."

Severus nodded and stood up straight again–

"Legilimens!"

Half an hour had passed and they had no luck in digging up any new old memories.

"Can we please stop?" Alecto panted tiredly whilst she looked up at him from where she was slightly slumped in her chair.

"No, Dumbledore told me—"

"He didn't tell you to torture me and tire me out. Why are you so damn harsh all the time." She looked at him with an annoyed glance in her eyes.

Severus scowled lightly and saw her wearing the necklace he gave her for Christmas.

"Why do you still wear it?"

Alecto raised an eyebrow and looked down at the golden chain around her neck with a small golden snake attached to it.

"Just because you ended our relationship doesn't mean I'm not going to wear something that fits well on me, you know?"

"That's not what I mean." Severus scowled softly.

He entered her mind again and the memories of which she was thinking of now was overflowing in her mind, that Christmas day he gave her the necklace and he saw the ring as well which she had been wearing a lot as well, he saw the letter that came with it, her father gave it to her, the memories came to him as quick as light and they were as clear as day.
