The tension between the three schools and between students only got thicker as June 24th was coming up quickly.

But we couldn't forget June 16th, Alecto's birthday.
In just a couple of days she would be turning sixteen.

She was at least a whole year older than most of her classmates but she didn't mind at all.

Alecto looked up from her book she was reading, Alex was in her room studying on her bed for an upcoming potions assignment and she was busy reading whilst they enjoyed the peaceful silence.
As friends they've grown immensely over the last few weeks, Alecto's been trying her best to perhaps show him some affection like he showed her but was still having some trouble with it.

Alex looked up from his book, "Hmm?" He hummed, flashing his sweet smile.

Alecto shook her head and smiled, "Nothing, I'm just sleepy."

Alex let out a chuckle, "so am I, but Snape is torturing us."

Alecto giggled softly and layed down with her head on Alex's lap, her dark hair resting in waves over his lap.

"It's your birthday in a few days."

Alecto groaned and put her hands over her eyes, "I know..."

"You sound so disappointed." Alex chuckled.

"I'm not, I'm just worried about the third task which is coming up."

"Don't worry about it, it's not your place to worry about it." He muttered, running his hand though Alecto's hair.

"I know, I just have a bad feeling-"

There was a slight silence for a few seconds, not an uncomfortable one, just a normal, semi-comfortable silence.

Alex leaned down and placed a kiss on Alecto's forehead, "Relax." He smirked softly at her and Alecto smiled up at him.
They've kissed once or twice since whatever they have going on between them started, but it didn't give Alecto that same spark that she got when she kissed Severus.
She missed him to be honest...
She missed him terribly.

Dumbledore had arranged that Alecto have another Occulumency lesson with Severus the day before her birthday.
The day had passed quickly that day, it was the 15th of June, a Wednesday, and everything had moved smoothly until Occulumency lesson came.

Alecto walked down to Severus' classroom and stepped inside without knocking.
Severus looked up at her and quickly pulled his left arm sleeve down, Alecto caught a glimpse of the black serpent and skull which was inked into his light skin.

"Is this a bad time, Professor?" She asked softly, feeling sympathetic for the man.

He stood up straight and shook his head sternly, "No. Let's get this over with."

She nodded and walked towards the chair which was already waiting for her in the middle of the room and she took a seat, around half an hour later it was the same cycle of going from memory to memory, over and over till she pushed him out. She had gotten better at it but it wasn't fun doing this.

Suddenly Severus pulled out of Alecto's mind and she snapped back to reality and saw him clutching his arm and he was slightly pale.
The girl stood up and walked to him, "Does it hurt?" She asked him, but in a soft voice, not the one she used to speak with him normally these days, which didn't usually take a pleasant tone.
