Chapter One

I sat on the boat with Yue looking around while she meditated on the silent waters, her white hair softly brushing her face. I knew my sister and I were fraternal, but we were both gorgeous amongst our people, but her hair made her almost more beautiful, one reason she was betrothed first, was because I refused every male I looked at, much to my father's confusion and frustration. I saw a giant bison floating on our waters and I sat up straight, I saw the boy on top looking at my sister in awe, and they made eye contact with me.

"This place is beautiful!"

"Yeah, they are." I heard the boy mumble and I giggled, causing his eyes to widen seeing I had heard.

Later when the Feast began, my father stood up, as I and Yue stood together waiting for our entrance together. "Tonight! We celebrate the arrival of our brother and sister from the sister tribe, and they have brought with them someone very special, someone we believed disappeared from the world until now, the Avatar!" He said and the crowd cheered. "We also celebrate, my daughter's 16th birthday." He said moving aside as we both walked in together smiling. "Princess Yue and Princess Y/N are now of marrying age!"

"Thank you, father." We said in unison.

"May the ocean-" I began.

"And the moon spirits-" Yue continued

"Watch over us during these trouble times." We finished together.

"Now master Pakku and his students will perform!" Father spoke, as Pakku began, and I watched with envy. We moved and sat down next to each other, I was between our sister and brother from the southern tribe, and Yue was next to the boy.

"Hey, Sokka, from the Southern Water Tribe." He said introducing himself to us.

"Hello."

"Hi!" We both greeted when an awkward silence immediately set in.

"Soo.. you two are princesses huh? You know back in my tribe I'm kind of a prince myself." He said and we both looked at him intrigued.

"Ha! Prince of what?" Laughed his sister.

"A lot of things! Do you mind? I'm trying to have a conversation here." He said and she giggled.

"My apologies prince Sokka." She bowed and I smiled softly.

"So it looks like I'm gonna be in town for a while. I'm thinking we could, do an activity together?" He asked Yue, as I began to eat.

"An activity?" My sister asked and I giggled at her response, Sokka got embarrassed and stuffed his face.

"Very smooth." The sister spoke and I turned to her.

"So what's your name?" I asked.

"Katara, Sokka's younger sister."

"So you're a princess too?" I asked and she laughed.

"No, not really, down in the Southern tribe we don't have Princesses and Prince." She said and I nodded slowly.

I sat on the water hidden away from people as I practiced my bending, see other than my sister I was gifted in the art of bending and even if she did have that ability, it was taken away when her soul was bonded to the moon spirit, but I heard someone coming and dropped the water, I saw Sokka walking slowly, I let my guard down and sighed. I walked over and stopped seeing his sad look, I slowly backed away, and turned in the other direction, my stupid sister, she lead the boy on I could tell.
