Mistake

Your heart almost stopped beating from what Kuroo said.

"I said, did you enjoy our last date?" He asked. What does he mean?

"K-Kuroo... what are you saying..?" You croaked out as your tears started to form in the corner of your eyes. This can't be it...

"Last date. I'm sorry, ____. Everything was just a game. It was all a bet. I never loved you. You're too stupid to think that I actually would." He said emotionlessly like everything that happened meant nothing to him. It looked like he can just throw it on the trash any moment he can.

"Do I look like a toy to you?" You said as your tears fell. "Thank you, Kuroo. Thank you for breaking my heart." You smiled. You grabbed your bag and left. You went back to the dormitory in tears.

"What happened?" You friend asked as you entered the room crying. You slumped down your bed as she rubs your back.

"It wasn't real... he played me like I was some sort of a fucking toy." You sobbed.
She hugged you, "Shhh, it'll be fine. You'll find someone better." She comforted you.

What you did not know is that his tears that he has been holding back since he woke up fell as soon as you shut the door close. He knows that you will never be walking back in anymore. He stopped the recording and sent it to your friend.

'I'm glad you understand my point. Do not ever approach her again. -F/N'

'I hope you know that I tried my best to prove it you wrong. -Kuroo'

'Your best will never be enough. -F/N'

He threw the small pillow to the bed. He cursed multiple times as if it would take the pain off his chest. His tears won't stop falling as he remembers his conversation with your friend few days ago.

"You bastard! Explain to me what the fuck is this." She said showing a recording of Tsukki and Bokuto talking about how they just dared Kuroo to approach you. They were talking about how everything was just a bet.

"That was before, F/N. Everything has changed now." He said hoping it would ease the anger that your friend is feeling.

"Are you kidding me? You think I would just say 'oh okay' to that? What makes you think that whatever shit that's happening right now will change the fact that everything was just a fucking bet?" She shouted at him.

"I stopped that bet. I told you, I love her with all my heart. If you don't believe me then at least consider my efforts. I wouldn't do that if I didn't love her." He explained.

"It was all a mistake! You never really loved her!"
"If everything was just a mistake then she's my best mistake."

"It's either you tell her or I will. Do not ever talk to her after this. You are disgusting." She pointed at him with her eyes ready to pierce through his soul.

"Then at least give me few days, please. I'll prove you wrong." He stood his ground.
"You think she will believe anything you say once she heard about the bet? No! After all you were just after the fucking prize." She gritted her teeth in anger.

"Go on, I'll give you the time you need but it will never change the way that I look at you. I'm sure she'll think the same." She sternly said. "Once a player, always a player." She said and turned her back on him.

He never wanted to lose you. It's just that he have no choice. He'd rather to be the one to tell you than letting others tell you, he knows that you'll just be more upset if it didn't came from him. He knew himself that the bet had gone wrong.

He ended up falling for you.
