Y/N
It's been 2 weeks since I got the concussion and I feel so much better. I have no symptoms and today I have a full day of going to the doctors
"Hello" I say
"Are you on the way to the doctors" coach asks
"Yes I just pulled up actually" I say parking my car and getting out
"Ok let me know when you know something and then come to the facility" he says
"Ight bet" I say hanging up and going into the office
"Hi how can I help you" the receptionist asks
"Yes I have an appointment for y/n" I say
"Ok I can check you in. Can I see your drivers license and insurance card" she says and I pull out my wallet and hand it to her "ok go ahead and fill out these forms" she says handing me a clipboard and a pen. I grab my ID and insurance card and put them in my wallet and have a seat. Now why the hell every time you go to the doctors you gotta fill out a million damn forms? Y'all don't keep files or something now this is ridiculous. It takes me about 5 minutes to fill everything out before I hand it to her and return to my seat
"Wow you're y/n are you going to be able to play Friday night" a kid asks coming to me
"Hopefully that's what I'm here to see" I say
"You're one of my favorite players, I even got your rookie card for my birthday" he says
"Wow that's cool hopefully I'll get to make you proud" I say and a woman comes up to us
"Hi I'm so sorry he just wanders off and has been fixated on you since you walked in" he says
"Oh it's no problem" I say kindly "what are you here for" I ask
"I broke my foot and I'm supposed to get my cast off today" he says showing me his neon green cast
"What were you doing" I ask
"Playing basketball, I want to go to the NBA" he says and I smile at him
"Well always remember to work hard and there's nothing you can't achieve" I say and he smiles at me
"Would you mind taking a picture it's for his dad" she says and I nod my head and we pose for some photos
"Y/N" a nurse says and I get up
"Ight remember keep hoopin and working hard" I say giving him a fist bump and walking back with the nurse
"Ok I'm going to get your vitals before the doctor comes in" she says and we answer all the tedious questions "ok the doctor will be in to do your evaluation shortly" she says and I thank her before getting on my phone waiting for the doctor. I see I have a text from Victoria wishing me luck on my evaluation and she'll see me later at her apartment. As I press send on the message the doctor walks in
"Welcome back and I'm glad you're feeling better" he says shaking my hand
"Thank you" I say
"Ok so you know the drill I can't release you if you have any symptoms even if it's only a one" he says and I nod my head feeling confident because I feel fine. Once the tests are over I can't help feeling nervous because I didn't do as well on the memory but damn I got a bad memory "well it is in my professional opinion that we can clear you for competition" he says and before he can finish I start cheering "ok ok but listen keep those meds in case the headaches return and I want you to take it easy these next couple of days. It's Wednesday so today light jogging and shooting, tomorrow hour of practice, and then Friday if you feel fine then you'll be released" he says and I smile brightly
