"W-what?!" he says perplexed at her response "When I thought about you having anything to do with It, I didn't think you would actually be friends!" he screams at her.

"I'm not!" she screams back, her eyebrows furrowed and blushing cheeks.

She lets out a sigh, getting down and gathering the book she dropped earlier. When she came back up, the man still had this expression of surprise.

"Look, we started with the wrong foot. We probably want the same thing!" she looks at him hugging the book in her arms.

"How do you know?! We could be enemies for all I know!" Mike screams, his arms wide open, doubting her until the last second.

"I'm on your side! I hate this genocide as much as you do! I tried to convince It, but It gets pissed everytime I talk about it!" she tries to convince him.

"Alright! I get it! We should talk from the start." he walks to one of the tables, sitting there and waiting for the girl to take a seat too.

She walked up to him, placing the book on top of the table, in the middle of it. An awkward silence settled in, they didn't want to tell their sides of the story. Mike was afraid of her and (Y/n) was afraid for him. She drew a deep breath and started to talk.

"I moved here some months ago, the job was close enough and the house was cheap. It was a dream! I reformed it and moved in right after." she gets interrupted by a frantic Mike.

"What?! How could you buy it? Was it even for sale? Why did the thing let you reform it?" he started asking, not understanding It's motives.

"I don't know, it was for sale though. I reformed it quite quickly and the men that worked there never saw anything strange. When I moved everything was fine, I still had the uncovered well downstairs, but I planned to cover it. Some days later strange things started to occur, things would move or disappear, I figured that that was why the house was so cheap. I'm not afraid of ghosts, so it didn't actually bother me." she stopped to think for a second "One night I came home and fell asleep on the sofa. I heard a noise and woke up to find It on the ground, It had a gash on its forehead and it was passed out. Now that I think about it, I don't know why I didn't call the cops, I remember I was really scared, but the only thought I had was to help it."

"It has the power to convince, that's why the town always forgets to look more into the children's disappearance. But you said that you found it on the ground, what did you do with it?" Mike asks, really into the story, wanting to know how this girl got tangled up in all of this.

"I took it to the sofa and cleaned the dry blood from its forehead. I fell asleep beside it, I worked till late that day and didn't sleep well the night before. When I woke up again it was almost biting my shoulder. I passed out and woke up on the sofa, thinking that it was all a dream. But on that day forward I started seeing it almost everyday." she finishes a little sad, even though it brought some kind of adventure to her life, some excitement, she still liked the way her life was before. But thinking on how her soul was all alone on this planet made her think otherwise.

"It was kind of like that with us too. The first time I saw it, it took the form of my dead parents. The others saw their fears too and after that we confronted it together. Our friendship almost fell apart, but the thing wasn't strong enough to tear us apart for too long. We thought we had defeated it, but it seems that it wasn't dead, just... Tired." he sighs, putting his head in his hands "I've a solution, but I don't even know if it's gonna work."

"How is it supposed to work?" she asks, her hand caressing his arm, having a soothing effect on him.

"We would lock it in a box, it's the ritual of Chüd." he gets up, walking to somewhere she doesn't know and comes back a few minutes later, carrying a strange box made of leather "This box, we would gather things important to us and throw it within a fire burning inside of it. We repeat 'Turn the light into darkness' till the end and that would be it. But the ritual needs the whole group and I don't think all of them want to come. It needs for them to believe too, they need to want it to end, to be stuck and fragile, but I can't control their minds to know if they're afraid or not."

"If they're as good friends as the story you told me showed, they'll come." she smiles at him, grabbing his hand to calm him down.

Deep inside she knew that it wouldn't work, she didn't want for it to work. If it did, she would be alone all again, and that was a feeling she wasn't prepared to have again. She wanted it to stop the killings, she knew that it didn't need to feed when around her and she wasn't exactly fond of being away from it. Of course she would need to adapt, but over time they would figure it out. If the thing wasn't so hardheaded! She wanted to talk, but every time she started this topic it would disappear or simply ignore her pleas.

"When are they coming?" she asked, not prepared to hear the answer, since they might come to kill it right away.

"Tonight, we're gonna meet at the chinese restaurant."

Her face pales, but she tries to not think about it too much. She should warn the clown though.

"Then, I shouldn't keep you here, you should go talk to them already." she gets up from the table, smiling nervously.

"You should come with me." he says smiling too, but his was sincere, full of hope "You seem to be a key piece to this puzzle, so you should talk to them too."

"I shouldn't intrude in your reunion, really, it's okay!" she says getting nervous by the second.

"I insist, they'll love you and you can help us with the location since you live with it." he continues to try, grabbing her arm casually and walking with her to the entrance, getting his car keys on the way and opening the library door.

"Alright! I'll go, but I won't promise that I know something that would help." she says, finally accepting to go.

The only thing on her mind was to get information to keep it safe, if she knew what they were going to do, she could be a step ahead of them.
