The First Afterbattle

Hello, and Welcome to my Pokémon Sword and Shield Fanfiction. I hope you enjoy it.

With all that said, please enjoy the First chapter of this Galarian Odyssey.

-This was you getting back at me for last time, wasn't it? Argh! I'm gutted to lose to you of all people!
-"The string of defeat and the joy of victory..." I guess going through both is the key to the two of us getting stronger, right?
-And th- hey! Stop that ridiculous little dance of yours!

-Nevah!

Leon approached us:

-Gloria! Hop! Well, after seeing a match like that one... I suppose I've little choice but to give you both an endorsement as Champion!

He got two small envelopes from his pocket. Hop and I received the letters. We both smiled at one another and commemorated in a weird kind of hug. We then broke apart as Hop thanked Leon:

-Yes! Thanks, Lee! I swear I'm going to win my way through the Gym challenge to reach you!

-Me too! - I completed

-You may both be still young, and pretty rough around the edges, but it still was a proper battle.
-Charizard and I were feeling the excitement in every cell in our bodies!

He paused and looked at the professor, then turned back to us again:

-Hop, you've always tended to get caught up in things like how you throw your Pokéball out. Things like that have nothing to do with real strength.

-And Gloria, you still seem to be afraid of something while you battle, you don't give all that you could. And Pokémon need to respect you, you need to find the right partners.

-That's some of the reasons I was worried about you two. But in just one battle you seem to have improved a lot!

-And I'd like to see more thrilling Pokémon battles out of you two.

Hop raised his fist and looked at me:

-Alright, Gloria!
-You and I are going to train up against one another to aim for that champion title!

-Absolutely! We're gonna be the two strongest trainers in the Galar region. And in the end, I'll be the champion! - I said the last part mimicking Hop's voice to make fun of him. Even the professor giggled a little.

We were all laughing. But Hop's smirk suddenly disappeared.

-Come on! It was just a joke. -I said, putting my hand in his shoulder.

-No! That's not it! What's that?!

He pointed at the sky behind me.

A bright light in the sky fell down in the ground near the river. Hop and I ran to see what it was.It had split apart in the fall. It looked like some kind of shiny pebbles. They had some kind of weird energy. Hop gets down to get them, I tried to stop him, but he had already touched it.

-Ouch! It's burning! - he said, quickly sticking his finger in his mouth, trying to ease the pain.

-Yeah, genius! This thing fell from the sky! Of course it would be very hot. Would you have expected a meteorite not to be on fire?

-You don't need to be mean about it!

-Ok, ok, you baby. Did it hurt you? Is your finger ok?

-Yeah, it stopped hurting.
-But take a look at this... I think they are wishing stars!
