-What are you doing here?

-my gran gave me a proper earful, in her own way... "those two young trainers are setting out on a journey, but what are you doing with your life?" - she said, imitating the professor's voice.

-Ouch, professor. - Gloria said.

-ah... Never mind that! Nothing to work yourselves over!- she said, trying to look tough. - besides. I'd been quite curious about that Pokémon you two met in the forest.

-Really?

-yeah! I'd been thinking I should look into it. So the timing world out fine!
-if I discover something really huge, then maybe even gran'll admit I've got some talent!

-But you do have talent, Sonia! - Hop said, trying to cheer her up.

-Yeah, he's right! You shouldn't feel down because of that!

-Thanks guys, you're all very sweet. But I should be ok. Besides, I'm excited about camping and fishing again, just like old times.

-But without Leon this time- Hop added.

-Not everything has to do with Leon, Hop! - Sonia shouted firmly. Both Gloria and Hop were very surprised. It wasn't like her to raise her voice like that.
Realizing what she did, Sonia sighted.
-I'm sorry for yelling. It's just that... Never mind, it's just silly adult stuff that you don't need to worry about.

Gloria and Hop exchanged concerned and confused looks.

-Oh! I just remembered Gran wanted me to give you both this. - Sonia handed them both Pokémon box links.
-This is a device that allows you to access the Pokémon storage system. There are some places where it won't work, like inside gyms and such.

-Nice. - both Gloria and Hop said at the same time.

I'm going to catch so many strong Pokémon, and put my head on as many Dynamax dens as I can! This is going to be the next page of my legend! - after saying that, Hop ran into the wild area. Gloria was about to follow him, but Sonia continued talking to her.

-He really is passionate about being a "legend"...- you could see some kind of grudge on her eyes, something old and full of regret.

-You ok, Sonia? You seem angry.

-What? No! It's nothing for you to worry about at all.

-You sure? You can talk to me if you want.

-*sigh* is just that... I've seen this before. He'll be so blinded by his own dream that he will leave everything... everybody... will leave You behind...

-What are you on about?! Hop would never do that! He's my best friend! And he cares about his loved ones and Pokémon.

-I mean, he did just leave you behind just now.

-But that's just because he's excited! He's been hyped about this ever since he knew what a Pokémon was, just like me!

Sonia reached out to Gloria and held her shoulder.

-I'm just saying that... I care about you, and I've seen someone that was just like you and gave the exact same excuses... Just take care, ok?

Gloria just nodded, but deep down, she was sure that Sonia was wrong.
