As the days went by they seemed to blur into one.I had the schedule down and mesmerized, it was brain killing, but easy. But the lack of food and sleep was beginning to weigh on me. I was part of the cleaning crew, but today I would be in the kitchen.
It was weird to think about not being with Barrack and Roux all day. I knew everything there was to know about them within a week, which was mentally tooling.
It was a whole other life here, and I'm a whole different person. I never thought I was miss sleeping on the cruisers, or the skyline of Corasant.
But there was a small voice in the back of my head that I refuse to listen to.
'It's really the same here though isn't it?'
'Having a Master.'
'Don't speak unless spoken to.'
'Token as a child to work for something you weren't given the option to believe in.'
'It's all the sa-."
"Shut up."
I was not worried about the voice, I was the one in control.
It was time for me to go to the kitchen, so I made sure to quietly get up to wake the others. The kitchen staff of always to first to wake up. Even though one person lived here he always seemed to have some sort of guest, besides Lux.
I haven't seen Lux for awhile, which made me worry a bit. He wasn't apart of my mission, but he could still help me with it.
I also felt slightly responsible for him...
He passed me in the hallway on the second day he was here and say 'we'll talk when the time is right.'
So I just have to wait.
I walk the empty halls shining with the light of the moon. He had beautiful curtains, but they were never used. I'm not mad, it would just had the beauty of the three moons.
I continued to walk through the halls till I found the kitchen. I swiped my authorization card, then the door slide open in a swift movement. I go in to see 6 other girls.
The kitchen was huge with 12 sinks and multiple stoves and two huge freezers. I saw one young girl at the sink cleaning dishes, so I went over to ask what I need to do.
"How can I help." I asked softly. The girl seemed young like in her mid teens.
See looked up to me with sad broke eyes, which broke my heart. The deep compelling blue only mad it more tragic.
She the gave me a soft smile "oh you're the new help, I'll show you want to do.... oh. My name is Ellodie."
"Aria, thank you."
I learned a lot about the kitchen that day, apparently they also make food for the guards as the slaves get the left overs. It was a constant rush and running around. Ellodie stuck by my side helping me the whole time.
The poor young girl was only 13, she should be with her family not here.
I was holding a bowl of spices to top off the current dish, but the I got a wift of the smell.
I ended up sneezing which was enough to get it all over Ellodie's face.
The whole kitchen saw.
We all tried to hold back our laughs afraid of being heard, as she gave me a small smile through her messy face.
We quickly cleaned up and got back on track.
