|Third|
Heather bit back the aching feeling in her chest as she thought to herself. Maybe I'm just being paranoid... no. No that JD kid is something. It's not good. Or... maybe you're just jealous Heather. Me? Jealous? Of Jesse James? Impossible. Right? She shakes her head as she pulls into the driveway. Immediately she notices that something is off. "Is that..?" She looks at the driveway to see a familiar green jeep parked there. "What are they doing here?" Heather asks herself out loud. She parks her car and quickly makes her way up to the house. She unlocks the door quickly and steps into the house. The smell of sugar cookies fills her lungs as she closes the door and walks to the kitchen.
"I've got it Duck! We're almost done."
She hears Heather McNamara's soothing voice. "Stop calling me that or I'll call you Macaroon!" Heather Duke's voice hissed back. "I'll have you know, macaroons are delicious!" Mac responds, her voice a little rough around the edges. "Yeah? Well I- OW FUCKING SHIT!" Duke yelled. Chandler walked into the kitchen to see a teary eyed Duke sitting on the table, a dark cut up her forearm. McNamara is attending to the wound, using what Chandler assumed was an alcohol pad. "There. Now for a bandage," Mac says proudly. Mac starts wrapping a bandage on Duke's arm. "There! We're all d- mph!" Duke cuts Mac off with a kiss which was gratefully accepted. Chandler decided to step in.
"Sure, just let yourselves in and make out in my kitchen. That's fine."
They separate and look at Heather who has a smirk on her face. "Heather! Okay so, we had this idea-" Duke cuts Mac off.
"I had this idea. She just made cookies."
"Whatever! Anyways, Heather and I decided that we'd treat you with sugar cookies and a sleepover because we noticed how down you've been lately and we assume it has to do with a certain brunette. Wink wink."
"No one says wink out loud, Mac."
"Let me have this! Anyways, we thought you'd want someone to talk to so, here we are!"
Chandler just stared at them blankly. Then she broke down, her hard facade disappearing. Mac and Duke rushed to her side. "I don't know what I'd do without you guys..." she said through sobs. "It's okay Chandy. You wanna talk about it?" Mac asked, rubbing her back. Chandler nodded and attempted to compose herself.
Meanwhile...
Veronica laid awake on her bed, thinking over the events of the day. I'm so conflicted. I like JD, but I also like Heather. Bi struggles, am I right? No, stop breaking the fourth wall. Anyways- It's such a hard decision. I'm giving JD a chance, but Heather is right there. What if she never wants to speak to me again? No, she isn't like that. In truth she's kind and caring and just a normal teenager under all the layers of lipstick and bitchy attitude. But what about JD? I barely know the guy! All I know is he likes slushies and trench coats. And he's really shady. Then again... he's kinda hot... but so is Heather! Ugh why does my life have to be so complicated?
Veronica groaned into her pillow. "Ugh..." There was a knock on her door. Veronica sat up confused before yelling, "Come in!" Martha pushed open her room door. "Hey Veronica! I was won-" Martha was cut off by a tight embrace. "Martha! Oh I'm so sorry for everything! Missing movie nights, flaking out on you and whatnot..." Veronica said. Martha patted her back. "You're fine Veronica. You're my best friend. I know you've just been busy with the Heathers. Anyways- I've got the movie!" Martha pulls away and holds up The Princess Bride. Veronica laughs and walks over to her bed.
---
"Hey, Roni?" Martha asks. Veronica pauses in the middle of braiding Martha's hair. "Yeah?" she asks after a moment. "What's going on with you and... Heather?" Martha asks. "W- what?" Veronica stuttered.
"What's going on with you and Heather? Chandler?"
"I'm sure I don't-"
"Veronica, I'm not stupid. You two have been giving each other questionable looks all week. What happened at the party?"
Veronica sighed.
"I may or may not have... kissedherandshemayormaynothavekissedback..."
"What? Really?!"
Martha stood up excitedly. Veronica just nodded her head. "Oh my god! Are you guys dating or-" Veronica cut her off. "No no no! We're not... dating. We want to but... the world is kind of un-accepting..." Veronica trailed off. "Oh... well what are you then?" Martha asked. "I- I'm not sure... it's whatever. I'm going on a date with that JD kid," Veronica said, avoiding eye contact. "Veronica... don't tell me you're-" Veronica cut Martha off again. "It's not that bad! It's not serious or anything... Heather and I just want to wait... I'm not gonna get attached to JD... hopefully..."
"Well I think it's a bad idea. But, I guess it's your choice. Be careful."
"I will. Thank you, Martha."
