it has been about 3 weeks since you had found out about the land of the dead. you didn't even dare to tell your family about it, because they'll probably think that you are crazy! however, you didn't care how would they react if they ever known. you were willing to keep this a secret, even if it's from your own family. the other secret you hid from them is a little den you made for yourself in the back yard of your house. this den was special because it contained your things that belongs to the one you look up to the most: Ernesto De La Cruz, the greatest musician of all times! who happens to be your great great grandfather as well. all the neighbors and friends were jealous of you that you are a relative of such pride to the Mexican history, and you didn't even hesitate to brag about it. you were proud to be in this family, and wished you could go back in time to the 50's to meet him. you got inside your private den almost every single day, to relight the candles near his picture and just listen to his songs or watch his movies. just a single note that came out of his mouth and guitar made you smile and adore him even more. you slowly felt yourself becoming his biggest fan! you just wished he could be alive still, and not get his life taken away by that rotten giant bell.

then, an idea came to your mind. maybe you could find him in the land of the dead?? you were shocked of how you didn't think of it before. "oh, I'm so stupid..! I've been spending 3 weeks of finding about the land of the dead and didn't even think about seeing Ernesto!" you whispered to yourself in annoyance. it was already evening, and you finished all your homeworks from school, so you had time to sneak out and finally make your dream come true.                                         you ran out of your den and came back into your house, changing into a fancier clothes that matches the spirit of the land of the dead. you went out of your room in an excited mode and ran down the stairs, about to open the front door of the house. "(y/n), where are you going? and in such overly detailed clothes?" your mom asked you from the kitchen. you looked back at her, trying to find an excuse. "oh! well.. I'm going to see a friend! she needs help with math, and you already know I have the highest grades in math" you talked nervously. your mother noticed your nervous smile and usually detects it as if she knew you were lying, but she only shrugged and said "alright, sweetie... come back home at about 10 pm!" your mother replied to you, going back to making food in the kitchen. "okay, mama!" you answered happily, closing the door behind you after you left the house.

you were now walking through the graveyards, full of people blessing their passed away loved ones and golden petals were everywhere. it sure was beautiful, but you had other targets. you went through the graves until you reached a big shrine that elected just for Ernesto De La Cruz. it was fancy looking, with a statue of Ernesto's head smiling proudly, and a line writed in stone saying "Remember Me" under it. no one was actually allowed in there, since it was Ernesto's grave, and also a safe place for De La Cruz's legendary guitar. but to get to the land of the dead, you had to break those rules. you had to go inside there and touch the guitar, that was your ticket to the secret land of the afterlife. and you had a special plan to get there. you went to the door that enters the sacred grave and waited until a celebrating firework will come up. finally, a whistel and a boom was heard from the sky, which blocked the veiw of you sneaking through the door's bars. while everyone were hypnotized by the fireworks, you walked tip toed towards the guitar, giving an adoring look at Ernesto's picture upon his grave. you slowly reached your finder at the guitar, closing your eyes tightly in hope it will still work. you opened your eyes, and to your happiness, you looked at your hand that was now half transparent, and golden light surrownded you. it worked! you looked out of a window and saw a bunch of skeletons that were watching with delight at their young relatives playing and growing right infront of their eyes. you really wished everyone had the opportunity to see what you saw. but then, you looked back at Ernesto's picture and let an excited smile spread on your mouth. "don't worry, senor De La Cruz... I'm coming" you spoke to the painting, and went of the the shrine to seize your moment!
